    What if I'm a Dragonite? I normally go to Jungle due to final stage being absolutely busted, but I need more gamesense.

    That’s understandable. The downside to calling Center/Jungle with a non-Jungler is that it steals Center from a Jungler who truly needs it;

    Each type of Poké has a part of the map in which they excel. Some do better in the top lane, others in the bottom, and a certain set of Poké need the jungle. These are typically Speedsters (Absol, Dodrio, Gengar, Lefeon, Talonflame, Zeraork, etc), some All-Rounders (Scizor, Tyranitar, Garchomp, Mew X, Tsar, Zacian, etc), and some Attackers (Cinder, Deci, Dragapult, Greninja, Gardevoir, Mewtwo (Y) blah blah blah). The Jungle is especially needed for the Poké in those roles who need to evolve 3 times and so take longer to spike than most Poké.

    In general, we should not see a Defender or Supporter call the jungle, as their entire purpose is to support/guard teammates & goals in the lanes.

    If you’re on a team and you call middle with a non-Jungler, a teammate will most likely:

    A) pick a Jungler, ignore your call, and go middle, which leads to infighting, the jungle being cleared but one or both of you still not earning your first move/lvl 5, AND a solo teammate outnumbered in a lane, feeding the opposition and helping them level up;

    B) pick a Jungler but try to lane with a them (negative fallout detailed in original post);

    C) no one picks a Jungler cuz the jungle is not available to them anymore (this is rare, tho, cuz everyone wants to be the star, apparently).

    Regardless, playing Center without a Jungler typically causes a lot of negative consequences for the team as a whole.

    It depends on the team comp, to be honest. If someone above you in draft pick has already picked a Jungler, you can either pick a diff Poké, or you could survive the bot lane (due to Marvel Scale buff) if you have the right kit and a trustworthy Supporter/Defender who knows how to back you up. Luckily, Dragonite can pull off the bot lane and hopefully achieve lvl 8 quickly.

    All this to say, yes, he can jungle. But he can carry off the bot lane, too, unlike Gardevoir, Gengar, Cinder, etc.

    I'm gonna say something I know some of y'all will disagree with

    I don't think it should be looked down upon to go somewhere that you like even if it doesn't go with Laner and Junglar

    Just go with where you enjoy!

    That's fine in standard matches, but if it's Ranked and you can do well without going in the Jungle, then I would honestly just say to hold the fort.

    If you’re doing solo mode or a throw away quick battle, then yeah, pick who you want. But when you are with a team, especially in Ranked battles, it’s time to be a team player and work as a team. It is, after all, Pokemon UNITE, not Pokemon Solo 😜 It’s one of the biggest gripes in Ranked; members who don’t work with the team. It loses games.

    BTW, I’m referring to Ranked in Pokemon UNITE, nothing else. I’m realizing that there are a lot of TCG ppl who keep posting on UNITE for some reason. It creates a lot of confusion for me because I assume ppl are talking about UNITE, but apparently that’s not the case.

    This is just my opinion, and not the popular one (or the "youtb gurus" versions), however I felt I had to say something...

    Basically, I want my teammates and friends to play as they feel most comfortable. I want others to enjoy the game and the challenges like I do. I would rather all of us throw these silly lane/jungler "rules" out the window and play as a team where we help each other when we can. If that means we take turns jungling or farming, or we have big team battles where we storm a path, then so be it.

    Is it nice to know that our team starts off covering different areas? Yes, I believe it is so I can concentrate on my lane knowing others are trying their best to cover other areas, until things get tossed up in the air.

    That's why we communicate in game with the quick chats (gather here, retreat, headed to the top path etc). I believe COMMUNICATION is key. Most of my successful ranked matches, even solo queued, there was good communication. I do not like the idea of being told who/which pokemon, can go where. The type casting is just based on the strengths & stats of each pokemon. That doesn't mean that you have to play a specific role. Sometimes my Blastoise is more of an all-rounder and getting in their faces, LOL. My good friend (irl) loves bottom path and makes it work well with Scizor, Blaziken (also 3 stage), zoroark (speedster), Darkrai (speedster) miradon, gyarados, etc. It works well when we complement each other on paths.

    I appreciate the person who does choose center path IF they watch the maps and go asap to the path that needs them most. Does that make sense? I'm sorry about my rant, but I'm pretty sure my opinion will not be appreciated in the Unite section....

    By the way, Ceruledge does well on the center path. Doesn't get KOd as fast as when I lane with Ceruledge (I usually lane with her but she's super squishy until lvl 5)

    Oh, and just because a defender is going bottom, doesn't mean everyone on the team should abandon the defender to go farm (that's happened a bunch of times to me in ranked). As Ho-oh, I slow the other team down via burns but when they storm me, I can't stop them on my own! Same with Blastoise. He's three stage, and imo, isn't really effective until final stage lvl 7. Working with a squishy attacker or all rounder in lane works the best especially since the updated wild share KO experience thingy change.

    So please, continue playing how you want and don't, do not, second guess yourself! Be confident and know that you ARE helping the team, as long as there is communication.
