Same for me. Pretty disappointed. Long, obnoxious, unskippable tutorial only to discover it's not working lol.
Not even asking for permissions from the operating system.
Someone messed up during coding of this section for MacOS devices.

The sad part is that it used to work just fine.
The other troubling thing is that I didn't see this bug on the big list of tracked issues that was posted (and discussion closed). So does this mean the devs have no intention of fixing this?

Just installed the latest update today (Sept 10). The camera is still not working on a Mac.

That's nice and all, but this bug is not on that Tracked Issues list. Please add it. This is terrible. It used to work just fine.

I have a stack of code cards six inches high. It would be nice to get the QR camera working again (yes, it used to work just fine). But I guess there are more important things like avatar clothing to work on.

Apparently, this only affects 'certain MacOS devices'.
I tried a MacMini M2 running Sonoma and a MacBook Pro i7 with Ventura. Both had this issue.
Interestingly, the camera worked briefly on the M2 but not long enough to recognise a code.
