This post definitely is getting heated.

Very true, people often try to fit in with others for a sense of unity. And your point about eventually no longer needing to fool yourself to like something is very true, it plays into the idea that eventually those who lie start believing their own lies.

100%, the first step of self love is accepting yourself for who you are on the inside and outside.

Thanks. You are given a gender, so why does anyone ever decide to change that? Because they think its the 'wrong' gender? How can it be 'wrong'? People say they have the body of a man but the soul of a woman or whatever. In my mind, that's nonsense. I think like a girl sometimes. For a year of my life I got told I was girlish despite being a boy. But I would never switch genders and say that I'm female or do anything to make myself female. I'm male. I was born male. This 'restricts' me just as much as my personality, my skill set, my interests. People say not to change your personality either, because that's who you are. Isn't the gender you were born into also a part of your identity? So are my interests. Hades was just saying, its dumb to try to change your interests because something is popular.
I'm not saying I would shun someone because they're trans. But I would try to tell them these things quietly. I wouldn't try to be mean, and I'm not trying to be mean now. I just showing my own view on this. (Y'know we don't agree on much Monsta. Thanks again.)0 -
You can also argue that the phrase thinking like a girl is only because of traditional gender norms, it doesn't matter if you think a bit differently because that's how you think as yourself.
