Subconsciously though, we might dislike the GENERAL things that are popular right now, leading us to not explore them very much. And I can see why ethnicity shouldn't be restricted. Really, in a way, why bother making that classification most of the time. I can see why there should be restriction on gender though, because that's just messing with the system of… how everything was set up to be. You are born into a gender, why ever try to change that. (now that I think about it, please don't respond to this… don't want to start anything…)

They do influence how we act, however personality and general who you are also heavily influences how we accept those norms and therefore how they 'program' us.
Someone who enjoys being popular and accepted would go along with it, maybe even if they dislike it, even tricking their mind into believing they like it, which presents the question- if you truly fool yourself into liking something, are you fooling yourself anymore? Because now you truly believe you like it, same as you truly believe you like something you did before.
Someone who'd rather be against that can be influenced the other way.2 -

Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean it's wrong
I am close to people that are trans and gay/lesbian
There is literally nothing wrong or different about it
Love is love, even of they are the same gender
And there are people that are born the wrong gender
It is not something that I have experienced, granted, but it is still true
Why should you care that someone else is changing to the gender that they are most comfortable and happy as?
It doesn't effect you, anyways
What does two women holding hands do to you?
What does two men saying "I love you" do to you?
There is literally nothing wrong with it and is natural!
If I do see anymore comments about hating them or repressing them, I'm not biting my tongue anymore
