Most mobile games are freemium and are of lower quality than their console counterparts, it's not worth it.

Agreed, mobile Pokemon games are not as good, with the possible exception of UNITE before December 4th 2025, however Pokemon fangames seem to be of similar quality to official games, however they are mostly PC exclusives.
