"I'll go..." you begin to reach for Sobble, but at last second change to Sprigatito. "This one!"

"Good choice," Professor Izzy tells you with a smile and thumbs up. "That's Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon. A Grass type basic. It is known for its-"

"Quit yappin' Professor," Jerry cuts in. "Nobody cares." The jerk then grabs Sobble's PokéBall. "I'll take this guy."

You smirk as he pockets the ball. "You know, I have the advantage, using a Grass type and all," you tell him, already getting confident.

"It's not about the type match up," Jerry tells you. "It's about skill, which I have much more of."

"Yeah, sure," you mutter with an eye roll. "So now it's time to go take on the Eight Gyms, Elite Four, and our Unknown Champion," you state excitedly.

"Oh, aiming for Champion," Izzy exclaims with shock. "You know, it's been over five years since our current one has been challenged."

Jerry nods excitedly. "I know! They have been undefeated for about 18 years and their identity is still a secret." Jerry puffs out his chest, giving a confident smirk. "I can't wait to put an end to their whole career!"

"You won't, though," you tell Jerry. "Because I'm gonna be the one to ruin them!"

The professor laughs. "Man, it's so good to see young energy," he says, looking between the two of you with a soft smile. "Please, take these PokéDex to learn about the Pokémon you find."

He hands y'all little computer like devices, which you and Jerry pocket. "Thanks," you tell him.

"Yeah, of coarse," Izzy responds. "Now before you two go let me give y'all a quick lesson about the region."

Jerry groans. "Dude, I don't want to hear it!"

"I actually think you will," Izzy tells him. "So long ago, when the world was just beginning to form, Lacos was the center of the planet. As events happened and Pokémon began to populate the Earth, Lacos got all of it. Over time, the other lands separated from Lacos and created the map we know today. However, not before important events to each region happened. This means we got all the things, or gimmicks, that are usually unique to each region."

"Wait, so you're saying that we can find Mega Stones, Z-Crystals, Max Energy, and Terra Power here," you ask.

"And we can find every Pokémon," Jerry follows.

"That's right," the professor confirms, nodding. You and Jerry cheer, now having more excitement than before. "I feel like that's something that should be taught in schools, but they don't go that far back in history," Izzy continues. "Something else you might want to hear is some Pokémon have a regional variant here, so keep an eye out for those."

"Anything else," you ask. Izzy shakes his head. "Then I'm off! Thanks for the starter!"

The professor smile and waves as you turn around. While you were thanking Izzy, Jerry had left. When you exit the lab you see your rival already on the path to the first gym, almost out of sight. Knowing that's the direction you need to go, you begin down that path as well. You only take a few steps in and get ambush by a Pokémon!

    Decision time!

If you can't tell, this will be your first catch

The options for what it is are:

    Starly

    Charcadet

    Zorua

If you go Zorua, you won't know which version until the next part is made

This may be your only time to get one of these three (I'm not sure though) do choose the one that is a most have for you

    Charcadet or zorua

I don’t really care as long as it’s not starly

(Tbh I don’t really like any of these pokemon I just like charcadet more then starly and zorua and i like zorua more than starly)

    (9:41 pm Wed)

Hmmm… this is tough.... Ok, what do we know about each?

Starly→Staravia→Staraptor (normal/flying type) (weak to electric, ice, rock types) (likes flocks in early stages)

Charcadet (fire type)→Armarouge (fire/psychic type) or Ceruledge (fire/ghost type) (💜) (weak to water, ground, rock types then both evolutions are weak to ghost, dark, ground, water, rock) Armarouge is loyal & has ranged attks, Ceruledge has resentment & grudges and is more melee attks

Zorua→Zoroark (dark type)(weak to fairy, bug, fighting types) (illusionary masters and uses that to trick others & protect)

Hisuian Zorua→ Hisuian Zoroark (normal/ghost type) (weak to dark types) (also full of resentment and illusionary, intense bitter energy when attks)

We already have: Sprigatito (grass type)→Floragato→Meowscarada (grass/dark type) (at first weak to fire, flying, ice, poison, bug then later add fighting & fairy to the list)

If we want to eventually beat our new rival, I suggest we should try to find pokemon that complement ours and can work as a rounded team, while exploiting our rivals' weaknesses. We know that our first potential rival has a Sobble→Drizzle→Inteleon (water type) (weak to grass, electric) and is a camouflage expert, lays traps, & water ranged attks.

Sobble is weak to Sprigatito (we already know this). However, (unfortunately for me since I love Ceruledge) Charcadet is weak to Sobble. On the other hand, we may find ourselves in a position or furure battle where we need a fire/ghost type...

Your thoughts everyone? I'd love to read your reasoning and ideas. Let's work as a team! 🙂
