Deluxe Pack EX pokedex working as intended?
I was very excited for the new Deluxe Pack EX set, until I saw how it interacted with my card collection.
Example: Bulbasaur from Genetic Apex used to show up next to other Genetic Apex cards. Once I got a Bulbasaur from Deluxe Pack EX... It moved Bulbasaur to the bottom of my card list away from the other cards in GA set.
Sorting through my collection is now a convoluted and frustrating process. Is this working as intended? Will the pokedex and collection sorting return to normal once this pack is gone? Or have I broken my card collection forever??? I won't be getting more of this set until I know how it effects my collection tab… which sucks because I liked the concept.

Card Dex Registration UpdateThank you all for sharing your feedback regarding the Deluxe Pack: ex special booster pack.
We are planning to update how cards are registered in the card dex. These changes are intended to provide players with a more enjoyable card collecting experience.
The update is planned to include the following:
- When you obtain a card that appears in multiple booster packs, it will be registered in the card dex for all corresponding booster packs.
For example, if you obtain a ♦♦♦♦ rarity Mewtwo ex from a Genetic Apex booster pack, it will be registered in the card dex for both Genetic Apex and Deluxe Pack: ex.
- Cards you have already obtained, including any cards collected from Deluxe Pack: ex, will automatically be registered in every applicable card dex retroactively.
- This card dex update, along with related UI improvements, is planned for release after summer 2026.

I opened one pack, saw how it put them in a new Dex, cancelled my Premium then went back to pulling old packs. I wish I’d never opened one because now I have 5 cards and hundreds of empty spaces. It would be better to have nothing at all. I don’t want to collect hundreds of things I already have. And Wonder Pick is a nightmare now too.

I submitted a ticket to the support team like you suggested.
This is what they responded with:
"Thank you for contacting Pokémon Support!
Cards obtained from Deluxe Pack: ex booster packs will be registered in the Deluxe Pack: ex Card Dex. They will not be registered in the Card Dex of previous expansions.
Please let us know if you have any other questions and we'll be happy to help."...
(Facepalm) I'm not sure if this was an A.I. ... But the "Agent" that was helping me completely missed the point. So I've sent a response in hopes that it finds a real person... or a less overworked person. Here is my response:
"I understand that cards collected in the Deluxe Pack EX will be registered to the Deluxe Pack EX Pokedex.
But what is happening is: cards I obtained PREVIOUSLY from PREVIOUS packs are being registered to the Deluxe Pack EX pokedex. And are therefore no longer being sorted correctly in my collection tabs."

I just received another very quick response from "Agent_Devin".

Update:
I just learned this interaction happens with the Old Amber card too, between Genetic Apex and Mythical Island. If you open an Old Amber from Mythical Island set, all of your Genetic Apex versions of the card are sorted in to the Mythical Island section of your collection and can no longer be found under Genetic Apex.

The ex set's dex rules are ridiculous. If you pull a card you already got in another set, it isn't marked as new in this one, but if you pull a card from other set that you don't already have, it only counts towards the ex set's dex. When you consider that, and the sheer dex size for this set, four cards per pack was a really dumb idea. This set in general was a pretty garbage move to pull right before the game's anniversary. Great way to lose players before the Mega set.

Firstly: Thank you for hearing the feed-back and taking actions on it. Thank you to the whole team.
But also: I'm still not sure if my specific concern will be addressed; perhaps it will be a part of the "related UI improvement". And also, a year is a long time to wait, and I'm concerned that the cards that were effected might be rotating out of use (if you are following other TCG examples of a 2 year meta).
I like looking at my pretty collection... Please don't shove it in to a mandatory shoe box.
