    It will solely depend on the last evolution. Since for most of the game you have the final evolution I choose based on that. But either way I like them all, there all under appreciated pokemon so I'm excited to see them in the spot light.

    Why is not liking Pokémon suddenly a popular option on all polls, now? On the Pokémon official website, of all places?

    Because as Pokémon's most verbose critic... I'm all for it.

    But seriously, probably Chikorita. Cyndaquil is my favourite Johto starter, but we had that in PLA and so I suppose that starter is now on cooldown before we see ot again. This isn't Charmander we're talking about, after all.

    Tepig is fine. I used one in my most recent BW playthrough. I never liked Totodile, despite being a big reptile fan, because the middle stage is so goofy.

    i dont get why there are two gen 2 starters when in arceus there were one starter from each generation

    Perhaps the other starters are already lined to feature in an upcoming project? Or maybe they just want to throw people who have become too comfortable recognising patterns off the scent.

    I saw this video on YouTube by HoopsandHipHop explaining it I think called This is why there are two johto starters! I was confused too at first and then this video made sense of it.
