I want to hear them probably for me my hot take is that the worst Pokémon mystery dungeon game is better than the best mainline Pokemon game

I dunno if its a hot take but I think the worst thing about gen 8 was the introduction of DLCs. Games should come with all of the content and not save it for DLC's, and if they wanna add more then release a new game.

In principle being able to create and add additional content to a game is a great idea. Expansion packs have been a thing since the 90s.

The problem these days is that often content that would have been part of the base game is deliberately held back or even included and locked behind a paywall under the guise of "DLC", just to extract extra money and recoup theoretical "lost revenue" from second hand sales.

I prefer DLC in principle to buying a third version.

Anyway, I've said it before, but my hot take is that the series should hve remained 2D.

Yeah I know expansion packs have been around for a while, but they haven't really been in Pokemon games because usually they are complete packages, with a third version only added if they really have more to add. DLC in principle is better than buying a third version but also releasing a complete game is much better even if the DLC adds much more content. If they wanna add content then they should've added it in development, either way the content works for another entry and can be expanded and refined that way. I would rather they take the content they would've added for the DLC and fully expand them as a brand new entry, beats having small DLC's and gives us full entries.

I would much rather the content be included in the base game and no updates or downloads (which may disappear as servers are eventually taken offline) be necessary to get the full experience. But in a modern age where DLC is the norm, if not practically expected, and developers can barely finish the content that is available upon release, it is inevitable.

I am not endorsing the practice. Merely stating that it exists.

In theory, adding extra content to a game is great. It becomes questionable when it becomes clear that part or all of it was withheld deliberately.

It is unclear how much of the DLC was intended for the base games in SwSh and SV. But I think it is clear that DLC was planned during development.

I like that a physical version with all the updates and DLC was made available. The latest 004 versions of the SV carts no longer require a download. It is something of the best of both worlds.

The best part of a playthrough is soft resetting to get perfect EVs your first playthrough.

I mean the chemical reaction from looking at your team and thinking, yeah this is like a 99 percentile run and I did it without looking anything up.

With pokemon accuracy logic the run would be 85 accuracy

Gen Three Pokémon are some of the flakiest in the series. Sure, some like Plusle and Minun are amazing, but then there are some like Swellow and Slaking, which suck. It’s a 30/70 for the good mons to the bad ones.

I would rather they made a splatoon 4 or include that in the base game. Also Teal mask should've been in the base game, and hidden treasure should've been in Black/White 3.
