Might as well start and do a voting series on the Pokemon of Kalos, going across the Pokemon that can be caught on each Route and given as gifts. First are the starters (both sets), which one is the best!

in the anime, he was king…heck, Greninja won google's top pokemon award 2 years in a row

to be fair, Z-A took away what made Greninja great…his abilities. No Protean? No battlebond? Yup just a basic speed water frog that becomes a helicopter

Doesn't including the gen 1 starters immediately render the results redundant? The gen 1 starters are more popular. You won't learn anything about gen 6 by including them.

(TBH... I do like Froakie, especially once evolved to Greninja, in my TCG P water deck.. that ability is very useful. 💙🐸)
(and I also like when Greninja is on my team in Unite)
Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise 😎 is my pick. Got me to Masters two seasons ago also. Too much fun surfing around or "brake dancing" and hydro pump, yeah, the stoise rocks!

Like mentioned by others Kanto nostalgia is heavy indeed… but for a change I resisted and went with Froakie because I also really like its whole line.
