Unfortunately it is a "must" to preselect using one of the two ways to do so or you get stuck with move set 1 if you never went in to preselect or didn't have enough time prematch. 😕

Also, they said we would be able to see what the other team composition would be so we could select moves accordingly.... I haven't had that happen yet except in the solo challenges. We still do not know who we are up against in all matches except for Masters and above ranked matches, where draft/ban is used, and the solo challenges.

To simplify, just let us pick our moves during the matches like before if that's what we want to do.

    Yes!

Also, I didn't realize I hadn't switched off Arial Ace to Leaf Blade for Leafeon

    That was a fun surprise

Just marketing spin to make it seem like a positive change.

It frustrates me that they say you can change it after seeing your opponents Poké choices. Up until we reach Masters, and in Masters ranks under 100-300(?), I believe, there is no draft pick, so not really…

Also, I’ll say it again, though we see their Poké, there are several Poké who can be used in both attack/melee style OR defense/support style (A9 & Suicune to name a couple) and we don’t know which style they will be using until we battle, so we NEED to be able to choose our move sets on the fly. Same with Defenders; most of the time they are classic tank defenders, but sometimes ppl also use them as damage-dealing Defenders. Being forced to lock in a move set ahead of time robs us of the ability to react to the different kits being used.

This isn’t just a matter of preference… it’s integral to gameplay, at least in Ranked.

    I agree.

(However last season they had draft/ban when the teams consisted of entirely Masters 0+ level except for that time they had to pause the draft/ban due to glitches. But by the end, it was working again. When you entered a ranked match at the master level, we wouldn't know which style the battle would be.... Probably due to availability of others requesting ranked matches at the same time. If an ultra was matched with us, then it was the same standard pokemon selection phase with only your teammates and without knowing what the other teams selections were.)

You bring up a another good reason why they DON'T need more rigid rules about what "role" a specific Pokemon has to play BECAUSE many are versatile and can be used in multiple "roles" depending on the move/attks chosen.

Sigh. Just give us back our ability to choose moves in game.
