You accepted the Z-Ring and followed Jeremiah's directions to a small cabin in a field. The building is isolated and in what seems to be the middle of nowhere. If not given directions, it is highly unlikely one would find this place. As you approach, you don't see any signs of life, making you unsure this is the right place. But at the same time there's not really a place nearby to mix up this one with.
"Hello," you holler as you step onto the porch. "Anyone here?"
You notice the doorbell and press it. Silence. You press it again. More silence. With a sigh, you knock, not hard but enough to be heard. "I'm coming," you here a voice yell from inside. After five clicks and a bang the door swings open, revealing an old man in torn up pajamas. "What can I do far ya?"
"Hi, um, I was told I could buy Z-Crystals here," you explain. "Am I in the wrong place?"
"Nope! That's here," the man tells you with a wide, almost toothless smile. "Come on in!"
This is the second time you've been invited into a home of an old person's home with the chance of reward. This is also the second time you accept. Lucky for you, this place isn't a horrid smelling junkyard. As soon as you walk in you are hit with the wonderful smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The living room is spotless and everything is well organized, allowing you to navigate through the cabin easily.
"So ye want a Z-Crystal," the man asks, pulling out a brief case. He looks up at you, his dark brown eyes studying you with much skepticism.
"That is correct," you answer, feeling a bit on edge under his stare.
"What makes ya think yer worthy of one," he inquires, holding the brief case tightly against his chest.
"I-I don't know," you respond truthfully. "I have three badges, though. Gotta count for something, right?"
"I'm not satisfied with that answer," the elder tells you. He hums lowly as he thinks, tilting his head slightly. "I got it," he suddenly exclaims. "Let's battle. One on one. If ye win, I'll give ya a Z-Crystal. Free of charge."
Decision time!
(As I said in the comment above. Short chapter)
Do you battle him to prove your worth or just leave without the Z-Crystal
You also have to choose who you use if you want to battle
(Dragonfly, I promise I'll make a shopping part at some point (if the votes allow it). I, too, enjoy a good shopping spree!)

battle to prove worth

I agree to battle also, but it's too early (5am-ish) for my brain to pick who to choose. (I'll be back,😎)

(Thank you)

Battle. Eevee didn't participate last time, so I'm choosing it.

Actually... I was thinking along the same lines while I ate breakfast earlier. Hmmm eevee can g-max right? Or was that in a different thread? And we want our Eevee to evolve eventually so maybe this would help along that path. Plus being a normal type, Eevee should only have a fighting type weakness and we don't know which Pokemon will be our opponent yet.
Yes, I agree with UZ... I choose Eevee!

Oops. Yep, still choosing Eevee. (I think pokemon are swirling around in my brain, getting all mixed up, lol)
