Whodunit? A Pokémon Mystery (4)
Armarouge is chilling with his little Ceruledge sister at a cafe. The two don't get to see each other often, him being an International Detective making him away from home most of the time. They are currently receiving their food, him a simple Flamethrower Roast coffee and her a breakfast sandwich with Caramel Frappuccino.
"So how long are you in town," Ceruledge asks before taking a drink of her beverage.
"Until 8 AM tomorrow," Armarouge responds.
"So not that long," his sister says with a sad sigh.
"Unfortunately so," he replies before taking q sip.
"So how has work been," the one with blades inquires.
The Fire Warrior begins to answer but a loud shriek cuts him off. Obviously concerned, him and his sister rush to see what happened. It's only been a few minutes and there's already cops on the scene, blocking off the area.
"You can't be here," the Officer Gallade tells them as they approach.
"This badge says otherwise," the detective states, showing the cop his detective badge. Gallade studies it for a second before nodding, stepping to the side to let him enter.
"You've got stay back, sis," Armarouge tells Ceruledge, who nods and backs away from the scene.
The Fire Warrior immediately notices the body on the ground. It's a Grimmsnarl. She has three deep slashes across her chest that are covered in red. The detective looks around, seeing no signs of a struggle or a fight.
"Hey, can you get all the people that were here when it happened," Armarouge asks the Gallade. "I want to question them."
…
Only two people could give an answer of some kind.
"I-I'm not really sure what happened. There was a dark blur and next thing I know Grimma is dead.:
"I heard a crack. I don't really know how to explain it. You know Rice Crispies? Snap, crackle, and pop. That's what it sounded like. I didn't see anything, though."
This may not seem like much, but when you've done this job as long as Armarouge has this is easy.
Before he says who the culprit is, do you wanna take a guess?
WHODUNIT!?

It has to be something that slashes, so it can't be an explosion that made the sounds. It also has to be powerful enough to swiftly or sneakily defeat Grimmsnarl since there were no signs of a fight. Maybe it was a hangry Morpeko? It's not strong, but it would explain how there were no signs of a fight, the suddenness, and that all we have is the slash itself and the witnesses who barely saw a thing. But if it were Morpeko, I think you wouldn't specify the slashes being across her chest, which is a pretty big slash. It could also be a Ghost type, or other sneaky Pokémon, that looks like it would leave big slashes, attack suddenly, make a noise like the witness mentioned, and then either disappear or act inconspicuous. It can't be Ceruledge because she was with us when the shriek happened. Theoretically it could be a Psychic type with a grudge or an Ultra Wormhole appearing for one second and a Kartana tthat wanted to slash, but I think there's no way that's the case. It would be easier if we knew which Pokémon were on the scene, even if the culprit was none of them, or had more evidence and counter-evidence. Gallade is there, but I have a feeling it didn't slash it.
For now, I'm guessing Morpeko, since it can explain the harder to explain parts of the crime. I don't think it's definitely right, just my first guess before I start searching the Pokédex for sneaky Pokémon that can slash and aren't Ceruledge unless this story secretly has two and the sister is there to mislead us.
