Can someone explain what they mean by giving us a set move path?

Does that mean it will be like Urshifu and Gyrados where we only get one choice for our attack?

If so, that's dumb

And then it says we'll get the option to add to our move path

Will that require gems?

I don't want to have to spend money to use all attacks available

I really don't like the sound of this feature...

However, the Solo Journey looks like it will be a blast!

I'm definitely looking forward to that!

I'm glad the License Latter is staying

I can't say I'm stoked about the Legendary Birds but that is cool

In summary: I'm excited for some of the updates but others not do much

What are y'all's thoughts?

    Never mind!

I'm also looking forward to seeing those updates, but not the changes in learning moves and other updates which uses my… real money.

@Hades0918, Hmmm... (Ok, why does everything lately make me want to hmmm? I'll ponder that later.)

You can probably tell I'm not to happy about one of the changes, thus my post asking for them to add an option in settings and not making it mandatory to preselect the move paths for our pokemon (to let us choose as we level up during each match as is the current standard).

However yes, some of the upcoming changes just sound different and could be good changes. Like the solo learning journey thingy. I'll be doing that to help earn license points faster even though I probably don't need to "learn" about certain things. I look at it as something to play when I don't feel like ranked match or my friends aren't available to battle with.

So, your question about move paths? I believe, and I may be mistaken, it will be more like the Mega Charizard X and Y.

If we compare the attack/move options available to regular Charizard, we would notice that regular Charizard has move options upon reaching certain levels and once you select an option, you can not change to the other move. So let's say regular Charizard has 6 move options plus a Unite move. You will only use 4 of those moves during a match, assuming you level up far enough to unlock your Unite move. The other 2 move choices not chosen remain unavailable during the remainder of the match, however you can select them during the next match if you would prefer to use them over the ones you previously chose. (Like choosing between Bitter Blade or Psycho Cut at level 5 and between Phantom Force or Flame Charge at level 7 for Ceruledge).

So regular Charizard has 6 moves HOWEVER Mega Charizard X and Y both only have 4 preselected moves. If you choose to play with either Mega Char X or Y, your move path has been predetermined by the programers. You do not select in game or in match or even prior to the match which moves you would like to use because the Mega Chars do not have an optional move set or path. That's how those megas work currently.

I believe what they are saying is that going forward ALL NEW Pokemon will be similar to Mega Charizards, meaning they will have a predetermined move set without move options, so no second set of moves to choose from (either pregame or in game).

Maybe that is why they will be charging less license points (earned daily and through other methods) and/or aeos coins (money) for the soon to be released new Pokemon? Perhaps because 4 moves instead of 6 takes less programming so costs them less too? Hmmmm...…

Honestly, I like having options and choices. Just like how we get to build our own TCG decks... customization to how we choose to play has a value to me, even if it is as simple as having six moves to choose from in game.

I'm not sure about the adding to the move path... I'll have to reread that part because I don't remember it. (I may have been frustrated by the time I read it and so it didn't register in my brain, lol)

I like options and choices, too

But they said you'll get to add more if wanted, which sounds like a money trap

I hate saying that, but I expect it to be "for this amount of gems you can get more attacks" which would really irritate me

I hope this isn't what this is!

Also, I have the same opinion about the Solo Journey
