My main defenders don't stack. Yeah, I agree with you. Defenders off jungling drive me nuts... Yes, I've seen that too. I'm talking about reals. (The cpu's always do random things so if you realize your team is mostly cpus, then you need to choose a Pokemon that can carry a match. Usually this is only found in lower ranked matches, like Greats and below, or in random casuals or quicks.)
The only time I touch jungle is if my Wartortle is lagging in getting leveled up and I just got KOd and all I need is one wild to evolve to Blastoise (where I become super effective at defending the goal) so I may stop quickly at only one wild on my way back to my lane. That's it. Then it's super tank sunglasses cool Blastoise defender time 😎. (Well, I only wish I had the sunglass holowear, lol. But a girl can dream 😉)

Fortunately the Pokemon id main evolve early or don't need to 🤣🙅

Wellllll, they actually do evolve in the sense that at specific levels, certain moves are unlocked and available to use...
But yeah. My Ho-oh, Zacian, Dhelmise, Articuno, and others don't exactly "evolve" in the traditional Pokemon sense.
Just at specific levels their move sets evolve, that might be a better way to say it.

You can play custom matches with reals (invited friends) or cpus (trainers) to try it out. 🙂
The standard quick stadiums on daily rotation actually use less Pokemon then casuals and ranked. You also level up faster since the matches are typically 5min or less. They all have different nuances or objectives though, well besides winning, so be sure to read about them in lobby before playing.
- Mer Stadium - 4v4
- Catch'em (at Mer) - 4v4
- Auroma Park (i spelled it wrong) 3v3
- Shivre City - 4v4
Also always available:
- Electrode Volleyball - 3v3
- Custom matches, your choice of stadium and amount of trainers on each side including 1v1. Can even do lopsided battles. (I have been tricked into playing 1v3, 2v5, & 1v5 😐)
Special stadiums for events also use varied numbers of pokemon.

Oh, for quicks we rarely go with what people consider a "balanced team". You don't need to.
Lol, half the time we'll all be a specific role just for the fun of it and challenge, yet still win. It's been a while though, right @Hades0918 & @Ember2026 ? Lol
