I know, but signature Z-moves have never seemed much more interesting to me than regular ones.

I have a feeling that Ceruledge being Ghost and resistant to fighting is a trick, like he's going to use a part Dark or Ghost Pokémon, or maybe a part Water or Ground one. I think Poiche is the best choice here.

    We'll start with Ceruledge

I don't know if I'll get the part done, though

"Go, Ceruledge," you shout, sending out the Ghost/Fire type. It glares at the Hitmonchan and points a blade at it, making a grunt of challenge at the opponent.

"That's a feisty Pokémon you got there," the Gym Leader states. "Before we battle, allow me to introduce myself. I am Jeremiah, master of the dojo and Fighting type Gym Leader. Prepare for defeat! Agility!"

"Flame Charge," you command. Ceruledge dashes forward as Hitmonchan moves from foot to foot. Your Pokémon slams into the Fighting type right as it glows red. As Hitmonchan stumbles back Ceruledge glows red. Both Pokémon have received Speed boosts, the opponent more than you.

"Nice move," Jeremiah praises. "But that only made us stronger. Use Payback!"

Hitmonchan springs forward quickly, landing a blow with a glowing purple fist. The attack hits before Ceruledge can dodge, knocking it onto the ground. Once on its feet, your Pokémon glows blue then red from Weak Armor.

    "Bitter Blade," you shout.

"Dodge it," the Gym Leader hollers. Hitmonchan has no time to avoid it, Ceruledge easily closing the distance and landing a powerful slice across the enemy's chest. Green energy pop off the Fire/Ghost type as it gets a heal.

"That Weak Armor put you in the lead with speed," Jeremiah observes, watching your side with an analyzing look.

"Yup," you agree. "Now use Shadow Claw!"

Ceruledge leaps forward, blade ready. "Not this time," your opponent states. "Bullet Punch!"

Hitmonchan unleashes a flurry of punches before your Pokémon can strike. As Ceruledge gets knocked back it glows with stat changes. "Now use Payback," Jeremiah follows up with.

The Fighting type attempts to strike with the dark fist, but Ceruledge barely manages to step out of range. "Good dodge," you compliment it. "Now use Bitter Blade!"

Your Pokémon immediately acts, slicing the opponent before they can react. Ceruledge lights up green as it gets a heal and Hitmonchan is pushed back. "Don't waste time. Use Payback!"

The Punching Pokémon leaps forward, hitting Ceruledge before it can even register what's going on. The attack hits hard, knocking Ceruledge far across the field. You wince as the Fire/Ghost finally crashes into a wall behind you. "Are you okay," you question.

"Weak Armor does give sharp Speed increases," Jeremiah explains as Ceruledge staggers back up, glowing again with a stat decrease and increase, "but it also lowers the Defense, meaning Physical Attacks will be dealing more damage."

Ceruledge stumbles back into the battle. It obviously won't be able to take another hit like that, so you're going to make the most of its last remaining strength. "Use Bitter Blade," you command.

Your Pokémon moves in the blink of an eye, already about to hit. "Bullet Punch," the Gym Leader counters quickly. Hitmochan immediately starts striking, landing many hits in a matter of seconds. You see Ceruledge struggle to take it, but the Fire/Ghost type tanks the attack and finishes the Bitter Blade it started, slashing as hard as it can.

"Good job," you praise. "Now finish this with Shadow Claw!"

Ceruledge doesn't even give the opponent time to gain its balance before slamming its glowing purple blade into it. Hitmonchan collapses to the ground, not even trying to get back up. The Fire Blades Pokémon stands above its fallen enemy, its eyes sparkling with pride.

"You fought hard and well," Jeremiah admires as he returns his Pokémon. "But you have three more wins to secure." He tosses out a Rapid Strike Urshifu that stomps its foot into the ground, the whole building shaking from the flex.

    Do you switch?

Remember that if you return Ceruledge that yes it loses its defense decreases but also loses all the speed increases

Just a reminder of what y'all have:

Eevee (Normal) (Working towards Drakeon evolution)

Floragato (Grass) (Only needs one more level to evolve)

    Poiche (Poison/Psychic)

I knew it. Switch into Poiche since it's part Psychic.
