Different wild Pokémon give different EVs. When you play the game normally, the EVs are everywhere. But most people don't care about their Delphox having a good Attack stat for example, and would rather put all those EVs into Special Attack. You can only max out 2 different EVs, so which stats they go into matter in competitive.

It says in the how to get Mega Greninga in the website it says you can only use pokemon from the liminos pokedex number something to something.

The main ways to increase your EVs are:
- 26 of one vitamin to reach max EVs from zero (very expensive).
- Search up which Pokémon give you which EVs when defeated/caught and hunt them down (very time-consuming). Power items like the Power Band and Power Lens can speed this up.
The max amount of EVs you can get is 510, and the maximum for each stat is 252. This means you can only max out 2 stats at once, and will have 6 points you can still distribute (for reference, a vitamin like HP Up or Carbos gives 10 points).

vitamins don’t work after the first 100 EVs in each stat I thought? And you forgot about the wings. And technically you can reach 255 EVs in a stat I think, there’s just no point

Vitamins can't be used after 100 EVs only in the games before SwSh if I remember correctly. Starting with SwSh, they could be used to max out stats. I didn't mention feathers because they give 1 EV, and you can't reach 255 EVs in one stat.

I'm pretty sure you can, just the last three are useless but it makes things easier for counting. Thanks for the clarification on vitamins btw
