The Pokémon TCG Live game client will be updated on December 16, 2025. The game will be offline starting at 8 AM PT (16:00 UTC) and is estimated to be down for 8 hours. Please see below for the list of changes:

Happy Budew New Year to Trainers everywhere!
We’re celebrating a small Pokémon that’s made a big impact in Pokémon Trading Card Game Live. It may not look like much, but this tiny rosebud holds an opponent’s essential Items at bay, preventing their board from developing. With so many players running the plucky perennial who could, we just had to ring in the New Year by celebrating everyone’s favorite bud in Pokémon TCG Live!
Log in from January 1, 2026 to receive bud-acious new avatar outfits, hear some rootin’-tootin’ new music in the Lobby, enjoy new bud-tastic catchphrases, and play in our new Trainer Trial challenge!
Whether you can’t get enough of Budew or wish pollen season would die down, there’s no denying the impact this card has had on the larger meta. Thank you for all your enthusiasm for one of the smallest Pokémon this side of the garden wall—we can’t wait to see what it will ’dew next year!

Gameplay/Battle
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to use the Mouse Over Card for Info function if the setting was changed during a match on Windows and macOS devices.
- Fixed an issue where Tera Evolution VFX may erroneously trigger when using cards with a deck searching effect in instances when Tera Evolution Pokémon were played during the previous match.
Cards
- Fixed an issue where Mega Gengar ex’s (PFL #056) "Shadowy Concealment" Ability was not working properly.
- Fixed an issue where Whimsicott’s (MEP #019) "Healing Fluff" attack was not working properly.
- Fixed an issue where Team Rocket’s Pupitar’s (DRI #095) "Explosive Ascension" attack was not working properly.
General
- Fixed an issue where incorrect textures were appearing on top of cards.
- Fixed an issue where notification badges weren’t appearing when friend and match requests were being sent.
- Various other fixes and polishes.
