Greninja's only really the most popular because of the anime and Ash Greninja / Battle Bond Greninja being strong.

Exactly. You also forgot a few things, like it being in Super Smash Bros. Compared to Greninja, the other two Kalos starters get basically nothing.
Like seriously, Greninja gets a powerup stronger than a Mega and is associated with the most famous human in Pokémon while in that form, but Delphox and Chesnaught get nothing. (Ash) Greninja even has its own 3DS theme.
The favouritism of Greninja is even worse than Charizard, at least Venusaur and Blastoise still got Megas and Gmax forms, even though the Gmax forms arrived later than Charizard's and they only have half the amount of Megas Charizard has.

Incineroar is the most dominant pokemon in competetive history. It is anything but hated. But you have a good point.

Inteleon is awesome! Snipe Shot is a crazy move to have in competitive!

I don't keep up with the Pokédrama that much but so far with recent news one of my favorites, Typhlosion, has come into a lot of negativity.
