Pikachu ex and Misty need to be nerfed

  • Pikachu-ex's Circle Circuit should be 3 energy to use.
  • The turn you cast Misty, the pokemon should not be allowed to attack.

Mist should be nerfed yes, but in a less aggressive way (lets not completely change how the card works)… a better change would be have a limit of 2 coin flips (most of times it fails anyway).

But Pikachu ex Circle Circuit it's ok… it already have a bench constraint, it's fine.

Don't forget more cards will be released, this is just the 1st set, it's fine to be a bit one sided… you don't want to set the precedent of nerfing cards in just couple of weeks after release.

Use one of the 4 god-decks and you'll beat it. Mewtwo/gardy with a good start stall and ur good. That's like, 50% of player's main decks right now lmao. Still crushes Misty.

Grab urself one of the other EX legendary god-decks if not Mewty.

Try any other deck and yeah ur screwed tho; the meta is just to use the same identical 4 decks.

Hello there, I like to try weird stuff. Right now I'm with a Dragonite/Weezing and loving it.

    • Hi, really liked the 2 flip coin limit for Misty.
    • Pikachu has no serious drawback, since it doesn't need to evolve.

I also don't think Pikachu ex is a major issue since some cards (Greninja, Zebstrika, Dragonite, etc.) target the bench, which can weaken it considerably. Also Sabrina can be a nightmare and many other top Pokemon and Decks can easily take a hit from Pikachu before demolishing either it or the bench. Basically, Pikachu ex does not like endgame.

In terms of Misty, I believe it should be 2 coin flips: nothing more, nothing less (well, maybe 3). I also think that the player who goes first should be given an energy regardless, but in exchange, they should not be allowed to attack. The other person should be allowed to play the game, not lose instantly, thank you very much.

However, there are a few things that I consider unbalanced as of right now:

    • Mewtwo ex Gardevoir decks are OP. There has to be a better counter introduced, as it is dominating the meta too much, in my opinion. The sheer number of people who play this deck in unofficial tournaments in insane, and there isn't really that much variation within them. Imagine the 20XX theory from Melee (it states that everyone will inevitably use Fox, as he is by far the best character). Of course, that ended up not being the case, and the deck variation in this game is still healthy, but this domination is still concerning.
    • Red Card. It's just not that healthy a card, in my opinion. It's effect is basically a gamble for the user; they have no idea if their opponent pulled worse cards or better cards. As for the opponent, it's a similar feeling, except they actually want good cards. Overall, it can help the opponent as much as it can hinder. The only thing it has going for it is that it forces the opponent's hand to contain only 3 cards, which most people likely have more of as opposed to less.

Overall, although there are certainly issues with balance, most of the cards are well designed and lead to a variety of fun and viable decks, even for free-to-players such as myself and others.

@Indie47 what do you mean by god-deck?

    Salve,

    • The thing is that Greninja, Zebstrika, Dragonite, etc are very slow, unlike Pikachu-ex.
    • I always hope that I don't start, so I think it's a pretty nice idea that the player who goes first gets an energy, and no attack.

We need to think about what these changes will do. Making Pikachu EX's attack cost three energy will slow it down but do we want this? It's questionable. Better to let the development team decide.

For Misty: Getting the energy but being unable to attack is counter intuitive. You have the energy to do something but you decide to do it tomorrow. What lesson are you teaching?

i agree. trying to build up those cards while the oponent has 2 pokemon ex cards, can hit for 90 each round and switch them from the bench faily easy to just keep hitting. if one can do enough damage to the pikachu deck early where they risk losing one of the ex then its a good fight. god forbid you choose a water deck against a double pikachu EX deck.. just concede and move on lol
