Aurora Energy Bug

When I attached Aurora energy from hand for turn with temple of sinnoh in play, I am not promoted to discard a card from my hand (which should be required)

Temple of Sinnoh nulls the effects of special energy cards as well as treating them like colorless energy. This evidently includes any effects for playing them from the hand — the discard caveat technically applies after you've already attached it. The game just prevents being able to play it when you don't have any cards to discard. Given that some decks would love to be able to instantly discard it on purpose this is arguably a good thing.

@PachirisuFan1 We have official rulings supporting the opposite.

If Temple of Sinnoh is in play do I still need to discard a card from my hand in order to attach an Aurora Energy card?

Yes, because the discard is required in order to play Aurora Energy.

@PachirisuFan1 No, the discard happens before you attach IRL.
