Some needed PvP changes.

I've been playing for a while, gotten myself up to level 14, and played a decent amount of PvP. There are two big complaints I have, which are:

Winning the coin toss leaves you at a disadvantage. You get heads and go first, but an energy doesn't spawn for you, so you can't do anything unless you have a trainer to spawn one, or an ability to do so.

Losing should give at least some reward. While rewarding players for winning is good, it just feels like I wasted my time in a match if I get stomped or lose when it's 2/2. If losing would give a minimal amount of EXP, something like 5 per loss, where wins give 15 like normal, or 20 if it gets changed.

Aside from those two issues, I've been absolutely loving the game. I've got a pretty solid deck (I think), and playing with it has been quite fun. I'd love to see more icons and boosters as well, but I'm assuming those will come with time.

Initially I also though going 2nd was a big deal, but it's not as bad as you think.

For starters it depends on the deck, and there are strategies that only work well going 1st, like evolve a 1 energy attack cost stage 1 Pokemon and another is the use on red card going 1st really benefits from that… and there will be more cards and decks over time may benefit even more of going 1st, so for now that's not a big deal.

But about the battle rewards that's a real issue, 15 EXP is not good enough especially because the max level cap it's 50, so once you get to level 50 that EXP reward is useless, it really needs to change.

I agree, I also feel there should be some more balance for PvP, there should be more options besides "beginner" and "trading card game player" (a.k.a. you know what you're doing). As well as better matching with players of a similar level. I am a beginner for sure, but I hate when I just get wiped by someone with twice my level who has a full deck of advanced cards. I get it's mostly a collecting game, which I love, but make the battling more fair and fun, a chance to win and lose by a thread. I rarely have matches where I feel it was an even exchange of power and ability.

I play on tcg player since I have a pretty decent deck and I want the rewards to feel more fulfilling but I probably would like an intermediate difficulty cause that’s probably where me skills lie cause I’m still susceptible to rookie mistakes realizing after I made a move that I goofed up and cost me the game when I had a chance to win plus we really only have 1 expansion of cards so strategies are limited currently and majority of the ex’s are seeing some sort of play

I would also love to get more experience for winning or losing in battles, as well as more daily missions related to battles, like do this much damage, win with a type of deck, etc. Losing should generate experience, conceding early should not to stop people from joining and conceding.

Yes, but has they announced their initial goal was to focous more on the card collection aspect of the game, the battles were supposed to be a mini-game inside the game… but it seems more and more that the way they have to go is to put more effort on the battle system that's what the majority of players want.
