Placing Damage Counters should not be an Effect

The Cards even always say that Damage is not an Effect… why oh why, isn't a move called, "Reflective Barrier," not acting like it SHOULD and just Damaging them?? Why is it even placing Damage Counters?? It makes no sense. So, placing Damage Counters should act just like straight Damage from an Attack.

This game will soon be 30 years old, it has rules like any other game.

Sometimes they change them like the "recent" Tools errata that made Tools their own category of Trainer cards. But that change was not controversial it actually made sence.

Now you want them to completely change a well established machanic, witch would change significantly how the game is played… no that's not how that works.

If you want a simplified version of the game without damage counters for now, you can maybe try TCG Pocket.

OR at least when the, "effect," happens on their turn because they attacked Mewtwo when he has the Reflective Barrier up, those Damage Counters shouldn't count as an Effect.
Otherwise you just have one card that makes it so that my Mewtwo/Hisuian Zoroark Deck simply and literally cannot do anything at all and that's stupid.

I'm saying they should be true to the name of the move they give the Pokemon… sure, other cards could do the Damage Counter thing and that could be an effect, I guess… but a move like Mewtwo's Reflective Barrier should not be an effect… or rather, the effect should be on Mewtwo and when they attack it while that Reflective Barrier is up, the damage they recieve as a result should be just straight Damage, not an effect. It makes no sense that a Mist Energy Card would stop Mewtwo's Reflective Barrier.

Doesn't matter. Posting here won't change anything.
