Should the National Dex come back?
The National Dex has been a feature in Pokemon for a while, allowing every Pokemon to be useable in each newly released game. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that it is a staple of the classic games. In Pokemon Sun and Moon they removed the national dex but every Pokemon could be played, I found it odd but whatever. In Let's Go they just had the Kanto Dex which was strange but set a new standard in the series: only the Pokemon in the regional dex could be caught. Imagine migrating your Pokemon from Bank to Home with the hope to use your team from a previous game and being told "nope", pretty disappointing right? I can understand them not doing it with Let's Go because of like time constraints but them not implementing it in the next game is lame. I hope it comes back because I can't even use my team that I used to beat my first Pokemon game in the new games. I wanna hear y'alls thoughts on the matter.

yes it should, even as DLC

So a feature that was once free should be a paid DLC, seems kinda lame dont'ya think?

Even though I'd love to use any Pokémon I want in any game, adding OVER 1000 Pokémon in every game they make, and having to balance all of them with the new 100+ Pokémon released every time, and a lot more stuff, doesn't sound easy. All I want from new games is for them to be good and not rushed.
Edit: I want to clarify that I know that they don't need to remodel everything every new generation, I was mostly thinking about how they'd need to balance all the old mons and make adjustments to make sure that there's no super overpowered secret strategy and or that certain old mons aren't getting to powercrept or overpowered and etc. and other things.

It should come back. Part of the reason they made high resolution models during the 3DS era was so that they would be ready for use in future games. Shame dexit happened the very next game.
I think a lot of people opposed to restoring the national dex (beyond the sycophants who think any decision corporations make is the correct decision) do so under the mistaken belief that every new game has to be developed from scratch with brand new code, animations and models.
This is a fallacy. New Pokémon will require new models, but there is no reason they cannot transfer across old models, animations, moves and stats for returning Pokémon, especially those that cannot be captured in the region.
I think it is out of a desire to reduce storage costs on smaller cartridges and cram as much development time as possible into a crowded release schedule by cutting content.
They can also sell those old Pokémon again as DLC content. True you can transfer them from older games for now with Pokémon Home, but I suspect that will change in the future, or require a subscription to do so.
Removing the national dex was an anti-consumer act of laziness and greed. There is no reason for you to advocate for it.

Imagine a VGC format with both Flutter Mane and Xerneas, it was removed for a reason.

It should come back, but I fear it won't come back.

They can limit the use of certain Pokémon in VGC and other formats. It's not a strict dichotomy of making a Pokémon legal everywhere or removing it from the game entirely.

what I mean is I would still buy it as DLC
