Is cornerstone mask ogerpon ex supposed to be able to hit farigiraf ex?

played a game and farigiraf ex was able to get damage by cornerstone mask ogerpon ex. Is this a bug or is there a rule I’m not aware of?

Conerstone Mask Ogerpon ex hits through effects on the defending pokemon and would therefore damage farifiraf ex

The attack can hit through any and all protection effects. It's not related to the Ability at all.

So does Cornerstone ogerpon’s ability essentially cancel out other Pokémon with ability’s similar to the one found on Farigiraf ex(Armor Tail)?

I did discover that a cornerstone can hit another cornerstone.
