Quitting mid game cause the game to freeze where your only option is to concede or restart the app?

I’ve played against this opponent twice in a row now where mid game , it will go to their turn and nothing happens. Their timer keeps going down but nothing happens game wise and it doesn’t concede to me. Is this because they close out the app during the game? It ends up giving me a game loss each time because I can’t do anything other than shut down my own app to get out of the game. It’s really messed up and extremely annoying. Was this prior to yesterday's update? If so, this was the common de-sync bug that we've been experiencing for over a week. Should be fixed based on the update notes:
- Fixed an issue where the game becomes unresponsive when using Archeops (SIT #147) Primal Turbo Ability, and Elesa's Sparkle (FST #233).
- Fixed an issue where the game can become unresponsive when evolving a Fusion Strike Pokémon with a Fusion Strike Energy attached, including Mew VMAX (FST #114).
