Based on what we saw in the trailer, We saw Lumiose City. Question Still remains, which time period will the game be taking place? Is it in the future where Lumiose is undergoing another redevelopment plan for an environmentally friendly approach or the 19th century style where the first redevelopment of Lumiose City first proposed?

    @clasingla If it be 1940, then it might be around the time as the Pokemon World's version of WWII with enemies of Kalos only see Pokemon as tools of war.

    Maybe it's in the future, I mean, Pokémon Legends: Arceus was in Ancient Sinnoh.

    @Scorbunny1scute If it is, then it be in a second redevelopment state where they make Lumiose more environmentally friendly.

    I mean, maybe the Industrial Revolution, as that caused the building of cities around the world. There are a bunch of tales about riots that came form those, and they're almost at LEGEND status.

    Something tells me every company involved will want to avoid depicting any events in even a fictionalised Paris in the 1940s. Especially in a game intended for international release.

    @MajorBrendan

    If it be 1940, then it might be around the time as the Pokemon World's version of WWII with enemies of Kalos only see Pokemon as tools of war.

    Did the Pokémon world have a world war? I know Lt. Surge alludes to using his Pokémon during "the war" (Vietnam, presumably) and gen 1 references the real world and its events much more heavily than later generations, but these days I think the developers want to make the Pokémon world entirely detached from the real world, even if people and locations are based upon it.

    Furthermore, Paris was established and modernised long before the 1940s. Assuming the Pokémon world city parallels the real world equivalent's, it would long since already have been developed.

    All that said, a Pokémon game set in occupied France would be such absurd tonal whiplash, it borders on comedy.

    Please do it.
