You know as I think about it some more. Volo is basically how GF imagines Cynthia if she were a guy. I know they're related by blood but the fact they have the same eyes, hair color and nearly an identical team... It almost makes you wonder who else in Pokémon might be related.
Always thought Tucker and Wallace were but I can't prove it. We know Lacey is daughter of Clay(Ditto Drayton with Drayden) but we don't know the mother... I hate ambiguity sometimes.
Also if Liko was the daughter of Ash like some people thought before the Gen 9 Anime even began, I think heads would have exploded.

I haven't read all the comments yet, but I was thinking....
We already WERE forced into a battle against Cynthia and her team.... AND we only had one Pokemon that we controlled. However I guess we still had "cpu/bot" teammates which means you have to cover everything yourself since they really "waterdown" the intelligence level of cpus on the purple side. If you didn't carry the entire game then you'd lose.
If you haven't figured it out yet, since it wasn't specified which type of battle, I'm talking about in Unite. In Solo Mode before the newer changes, we went up against Cynthia's team multiple times to earn stuff....yep, I've got the avatar that proves I beat her team multiple times with different missions at play.
But yeah, I know. Unite isn't traditional Pokemon battles nor a mainline game.
However, been there done that multiple times, and got the outfit to prove it 😉 with regards to battling Solo mode against Cynthia and her team.

Ahhh yeah, I try really really hard to be ummmm positive... but sometimes things just make me flip out.

I've been having sooooo much fun in the Anniversary stadium as multiples and ranked has been aggravating like always due to randoms in the solo queued matches who have no clue how to work as a team, but still fun nonetheless 😁)
