Should Legendary Pokémon be strong?

Have you read this letter from the Unite Team?(https://pkmn.news/3NXOjYQ)

I appreciate that they have shared their designs on Zacian, whether they are good or bad.

They intend to design the Legendary Pokémon to be strong.

Some people will enjoy using powerful Pokémon, while others will be afraid that it will unbalance the game.

What do you guys think?

I also wonder what about Mythical Pokémon like Hoopa and Mew, which were really strong at release and still are.

And what about Umbreon and Leafeon? Some would think they were designed to be top tier for the Eevee Festival.

(By the way, wasn't the team Nouns Esports, not Noun Esports...?)

heated opinion, I say underbuff the legends and give them time to circulate before you hit them with the giant buffs. Zacian was a giant offender of “ didn’t get playtested with the general public/everyone asked to nerf them and timi didn’t listen”

Give it a month before you slam buffs at least. Some Pokémon really got overbuffed to the point the game went into a nigh-unplayable state (FT. MR MIME)

plus you get to add cool holowares on sale and buff the Pokémon just as it expires and you have to pay it at full price

Overpowered is fun, but it shouldn't get to the point of breaking the game. As long as they are still somewhat balanced, I'm fine with the buffs.

Also, the existence of Legendary Pokemon in general is okay in mainline Pokemon, as it isn't primarily a competitive multiplayer game and Legendaries can act as a reward.

But UNITE, an MMO? I really wonder what they were thinking.

That is a TERRIBLE idea- people are already getting mad about the fact that the meta in competitive Pokemon surrounds Legendaries so much, and creating characters that are intentionally more powerful than others risks those characters not being relevant anymore.

What's more is that unlike mainline Pokemon, where you still have a team of five other Pokemon in addition to your hypothetical legendary, in Unite people only carry one main. Soon we'll have a bunch of Zacian users and ONLY Zacian users.

If they want to include legendaries imo, they should add some kind of requirement, and NOT have it be a choice for people and something on the onset of the game, to make things fair. Of course, I don't actually play UNITE, so maybe take my word with a grain of salt.

I say it is fine because as they said they are going to balance the pokemon by giving them debuffs like reducing zeraora movement speed compared to others or taking an item slot for zacian. However they need to either make it harder to get to your powerful state or making you harder to play. Also legends should be like a privilege if it is the case and should have a limit of use because, well, they do have to balance the Pokémon world. If that was the case then you would not have to face them on every match. Now THAT would be fun because it is like a challenge.
