Not that the story is even Pokémon's biggest issue, but would the game be better if it had a better story?
Is there nothing that can be improved on the gameplay in your eyes? Do the graphical issues and glitches bother you ar all?

As long as its playable and feels like a Pokémon game I'm good

"Feels like a Pokémon game" is nebulous. I would need more qualifiers.
Being playable is such a low bar it's scarcely worth mentioning. And from the highest grossing media franchise in the world, I expect seamless. These games should go through such rigorous QA that bugs and graphical issues should be virtually non-existent.
Do you think the modern games are more stable than the older ones? I mean, Gamefreak were never perfectionist coders at the best of times, but the 3D era has been embarrassing.
