Forums Character Story: Chapter 1
Willow's Point of View
I creep through the dimly lit alley way, the only light being the moon and my weak phone flashlight. I shine my phone down on the paper in my hand, reading the directions for the hundredth time today. "Bring three quarters, five Bottle Caps, and a Dragon Fang to the location I told you about," I mutter to myself, reading the note word for word. I don't know why I need any of these things, but I got them. The Dragon Fang was a pain to obtain, so this information better be useful…
I move my flashlight slowly from left to right, looking for the door Professor Mangrove told me to go to. To be honest, though, I'm not sure if I'll even find anything. The directions "go to the darkest alley in Zentropolis City, take two lefts then a right, and enter the door" is not that specific (or helpful). And he told me not to use Gardevoir's Flash, making it incredibly hard to see anything. Why does the Professor always have to be so vague and cryptic? Why can't he live in one big fancy lab at all times, easy to find and get to?
I sigh as I reach the end of the path, meeting a brick wall. Dead end with no door in sight. Guess I took the wrong dark alley. I turn back around to leave but something to my left catches my eye. There is a torn up mattress leaning against the wall. Nothing unusual at first glance but upon further inspection I see a doorknob pushing on it. I pocket my phone and push the bed to the side, fully revealing the door.
"Finally," I grumble as I twist the knob and yank the door open. I enter and find myself in a small room illuminated by one flickering light attached to a ceiling fan that I'm pretty sure will fall at any second. In the center of the area is a desk that has papers scatters across it and the floor around it. A pale man with spiky orange hair is sitting at the table, scribbling something down on one of the papers.
As I step further into the room, a floorboard creeks, catching the man's attention. His head whips up, eyes filled with panic, but he relaxes as soon as he sees that it is me. "Willow! I was waiting for you," he exclaims, shooting to his feet and rushing up to me. "How have you been," he asks as he offers his hand.
"Good but could be better," I respond as I hesitantly shake his hand. I don't have a problem with the Professor. I just prefer limited to no physical contact with others. "How have you been?"
"Good, good," he replies, seeming to space out for a moment. Suddenly, he gasps, quickly rushing away from me to grab his brown trench coat off the chair he was sitting in when I arrived. "You know how your Pokémon are really weak?"
"NO," I respond offendedly. How could he say that about my precious Gardevoir, Umbreon, and Eevee! They are my pride and joy!
"Oh, well they are," he continues with zero care of my feelings. "But lucky for you, I caught a Pokémon that is incredibly strong!" The Professor pulls a PokeBall from the pocket of the coat, offering it to me. "I don't want to be out in the field, way too dangerous, but I was thinking that since you're always out on your missions you could do some research on this fella for me! I get information and you get an actually good partner!
While I am still upset that he thinks so lowly of my Pokémon, I do like the sound of a powerful Pokémon. "It won't be my partner, but I accept your offer," I tell him, taking the ball from his hands. "What's in it?"
"You can find that out later. Let's get you what you came here for," Mangrove states, already moving on from the last conversation and pulling out a Rotom Phone from his light blue jeans pocket. "You have the requested items?"
"Yeah," I say as I pocket the new Pokémon and pull out what I have collected. "Some of these were hard to get, so your informant better be useful."
"Trust me, he is," the Professor tells me as he takes the three quarters, five bottle caps, and dragon fang. "So the man goes by the name of Clasingla," he says as he dials a number.
"Is that his real name," I ask as the phone begins to trill as it waits for a response.
"Don't know don't care," he replies with a shrug. "What I do know is he has connections with everyone, so for the right price he can get you any information you need."
The phone dings as the other end picks up, putting a stop to any of my future questions. "Who are you and what do you want," the person demands with a tired tone. I look over Professor Mangrove's shoulder to see a man who's eyes are hidden behind the bill of a green cap. Pieces of his green streaked brown hair shows from the sides of the hat. He wears a green vest and jacket over his white shirt.
"Clasinlga, it's me, Mangrove. I'm here with the friend I told you about that needs your help," the Professor explains, gesturing to me. "She brought all the materials you asked for, so it's time you hold up your end of the deal."
The man on the phone looks up, revealing his blue eyes behind a pair of glasses. "Isn't she a bit young to be your friend," he questions. Before either of us can answer he continues. "Show me the goods." Mangrove holds up the items and Clasingla nods. "Alright. What do you want to know?"
"The Professor tells me that you can tell me where Hades, leader of the Flames of Destruction, is. I want to know his location," I answer. Clasingla rubs his stubble as as he thinks.
"Yeah, I remember hearing about him," he tells me. "Normally he's at some secret base that nobody knows the place of. However, he is currently at- HEY, DON'T BITE MY ANKLES!" I jump from his sudden yelling. Clasingla bends down and comes back up holding an Espurr, which is purring happily as he pets under its chin. "Sorry about that. As I was saying, he is current at an abandoned warehouse talking to another criminal group about some sort of deal."
"Can you tell me where this warehouse is," I ask with hope. This is it! The moment I've been waiting for to take Hades down!
"Yeah, I'll send you the address," he says, typing on his phone. My own phone vibrates in my pocket, and when I look it is a text from an Unknown Number with an address.
"How did you get me number," I question, feeling uneasy by this.
"Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to," Clasingla responds, giving me no comfort. "Mangrove, deliver the items to the usual drop off spot. Bye."
And with that he hangs up.
"Welp, I've got to go," Professor Mangrove states as he puts his trench coat on over his light oatmeal colored shirt. He then grabs his orange visors. "Try not to die!"
He slams the door shut on his way out.
"Finally," I mutter to myself with a soft smile. "I'll bring the end to the Flames of Destruction!"
Hades P.O.V
"So you're telling me that you want 5,000 dollars to fund some sorta research project that will bring about a new society," the man questions with a skeptical expression.
"Yes," I reply simply.
"You must be out of your mind," the dude tells me as he shakes my head. "I'm not helping ya with that. Sorry."
He may have apologized, but it had no real meaning to it. "No, it's fine," I say with a cold smile. "I'm sorry, too."
"For wha-" he begins to ask, but Obsidian, my Ceruledge, has already taken care of him. One strike and the man was done.
"How sad," I state with zero remorse as Obsidian shakes his blades clean. "But, all in a day's work, right?"
I stare at the body for a few seconds before finally deciding to leave. As I walk away, though, I see movement out the corner of my eye. "Why don't you actually approach me instead of just watching like a creep," I call to them, putting on my best smile.
The figure comes out, revealing a girl that's probably no older than fourteen. She has long light blue hair with streaks of white that is currently in a ponytail. She wears an oversized white hoodie and baggy jeans, so it is safe to assume she isn't used to sneaking around. Her posture tells me that she's just a weak teen that is terrified right now, but her dark blue eyes are burning with anger and determination. Very contradicting messages.
"Let's have a nice little chat, yeah," I offer, trying to seem friendly. She shakes her head, her glare becoming stronger. "Alright, so you're not here for a friendly conversation, I see," I say as I take the sunglasses off my shirt and put them on my face. I drop the smile, immediately losing all attempts at nice. "Let's talk business then. What do you want?"
"I want you brought to justice," the girl responds, which I can't help but laugh at.
"Please, that's not the first time I've heard that," I tell her. "Look, this isn't a place for kids. Now shoo before I decide to give you the same fate I gave that guy back there."
"I'm not going anywhere," she growls, tossing out three PokeBalls. An Umbreon, Eevee, and Gardevoir come out, all crying out at me aggressively.
"You don't want to fight me child," I tell her, sending out a Delcatty, my own Umbreon, and Ceruledge. "Think before making any more actions."
She stands there quietly for a moment, really debating her next move. I assume she'll be smart and leave, but instead, she dumbly chooses to attack. "Moonblast, Dark Pulse, Swift," she commands. I roll my eyes and sigh. Her Pokémon begin to charge their attacks, but a loud siren and flashing red and blue lights interrupt them.
"This is Sheriff Max," the cop shouts through his megaphone. "We have you surrounded! Come out with y'all's hands up!"
"And this is my cue to leave," I say as I return my three Pokémon and send out my Charizard, Char. "Good luck!"
With one strong flap, Char soars out of the building and away from danger.
Good luck to who ever is next!
Wonder how you'll get her out of this.
Hmmm…
By the way, I intentionally never said what the mystery Pokémon is
I gotta let someone else have fun too!
In case anyone write more of Hades in the future, this is his full team:
Luz the Delcatty (female)
Amity the Umbreon (female)
Obsidian the Ceruledge (male)
Snow the Hisuian Zoroark (female)
King Pin the Nidoking (male)
Char the Charizard (male)
You two need to figure out who will write next
My plan is to make your character blunt
You said he thinks he's nice but isn't, so that makes me think brutally honest
I hope I described him correctly
Now to tag everyone else with a character…
@Dragonfly102024 @UnovanZorua @fineasmatei @Evolve8eon @Voltareon2012 @MonstaDash @TheNinjaBear777 @Tacolaser
I think that is everyone so far
I'm tired right now, so sorry if I forgot anyone
More writers and characters are always welcome!
Enjoy!
