I still pick up my instrument from time to time.... I really should practice more. And I taught myself acoustic guitar after college.... I need to practice that too, my calluses on my left hand need to be built up again so it won't hurt 😬

If you have free time someday (that may be a long time from now) you should try picking up an instrument too. Once you can read sheet music, it's easier to learn different instruments, just takes practice lots of practice, repetition, memorization of finger placements/combinations..... but you may want to get your family some earplugs for the early stages...
