Next Legends Game? (Theory)

Wow Good Job

Well... I wasn't thinking a future Lumiose, but instead an alternate Lumiose, just like the "other Hoenn" Zinnia kept talking about, in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Also, personally I enjoyed Legends Z-A. But, I did feel like certain aspects were a bit of a let down. Such as some of the Legendary encounters (especially in Mega Dimension with the cheapened feeling of not encountering the Legends and Mythical Pokémon in their designated location or a Hyperspace version of it).
- Volcanion's story, would've been better explored if we could reach the full extent of the region. Even if it was just a single area added through some DLC, it would've been appreciated to explore the story a little more properly than just having already been caught. (Even without changing that story too much, we can easily add to it—story wise—by having is track it to its designated natural location. Which knowing that Mable isn't allowed to leave Lumiose, she can still keep in contact as we go and catch it.) — I get it being a challenge of "how would we get there?", in the sense of travel.
- Genesect could've been put in Lysandre Labs, or a Hyperspace themed after a lab.
- Magearna's felt too simple for my taste. We never really got to battle it. It just sorta got put into our party. (Which, I guess makes sense... But, I feel that it being jolted back to life, especially with the new Mega Stone, would've caused it to Rogue Mega Evolve or at least put it into a frenzy.)
- Hoopa felt kinda under powered. Especially for being the mascot for Mega Dimension. (Like any of the Main Story Legends and Myths, Hoopa should've been given a battle, similar to that of Rogue Mega Evolution, or Zygarde.) — To be clear, when I say "Main Story", I mean the Pokémon emphasized and highlighted. So, basically not counting the Unovan Legends, Meltan or Melmetal, or any of those side missions.
- The Donut thing (though I do enjoy it), I feel it's too complex. I don't really appreciate having to collect so many berries, just to leave the option up to chance. (Having to do that one reset trick is too nerve-racking and really shouldn't be left to chance considering how difficult it is to obtain said berries, especially for a casual player.
- Plus, there's the big one, everyone had an issue with, when the game was revealed to be exclusively within Lumiose City, rather than the entirety of Kalos.
Overall, though. I still really enjoyed the game as a whole. Yes, it's not without its flaws. But, it's just some notes on what to plan better for, when moving on, or returning to the game in the future.
Anyway, sorry for the side topic. And, thank you for your input.

Two things:
Neither are really theories, but I wanted to mention them.
First, I wanted to say that after playing Legends Arceus, I had heard some mention the three books in the prior trailers for the game, as they suggested it was an indicator for the number of games planned. That's part of what led me to this theory, but I had also previously theorized a Legends game for Kalos. (Though it was moreso based on the reintroduction of gimmicks, along with the rifts. I didn't have much to support my claims. Until more recently. —Although, Ingo having symptoms similar to that of a Faller -as well as looking back at Looker in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, at the Battle Resort- it felt like everything was already lined up perfectly.) Overall, I proved to be correct, we just ended up with less of a region and more of a City...
Secondly, If they do bring us back to Alola for the next Legends, I hope they they bring out remakes of the Ultra games. (I specify "Ultra", because although I like the first ones, they gave us more in these ones. The Ultra games, should be the prime focus, and the Legends game should definitely give us more on the Ultra Recon Squad.)
I was a bit sad to see that we didn't get remakes of X and Y, when Legends Z-A released. However, I'm glad we didn't get chibi remakes, like Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. I didn't mind it too much, as it was a nice design. However, it felt almost like we were backtracking in visuals a bit. Plus, I was rather disappointed by the severe lack of the Distortion World in Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl and Legends Arceus, as although I have Platinum, I still have yet to visit the Distortion World, which is one of the major bits of the game I was most eager to explore.
Overall, I feel the Legends games pair best with their remakes, as a way of refreshing our memories of the journey we took, to get where we are, or exemplify what led to the games we once previously explored. Without the remakes (especially in Z-A's situation), the Legends games feel like an incomplete Journey. Like there's more to explore, but it's cut off midway through. Especially, with how long it's been since the original releases.
All-in-all, I love the games as they are. I want to someday return to them, just the same as we returned to Kanto upon the completion of our Johto adventure in Gold and Silver. (But, that's for another post. A post of which would contain one of my side projects.)
Nonetheless, I appreciate everyone for their input. If anyone has anything more to share on the theory, or theories of their own, please do.

I truly wish we got the remakes
My name for them was
Eternal X and Decaying Y
I've always wanted to play X and Y but I don't have a 3DS so I never got to
When I heard that Kalos was getting a Legends game, I was so excited, thinking they were going to make that remake
It never came and my disappointment was immeasurable
Hopefully they'll make remakes of either SM (preferably the Ultras, though, however I don't actually know the difference just that Ultras has more)

There really isn't much to go off of with the image of Megalopolis we got. And if you are proven wrong I hope you don't become deeply depressed just because you convinced yourself and were proven wrong.
That would be somewhat short tempered imo. If you get any kind of job you will need to learn from failures and not repeat them. Failure is something natural and not repeating them is how you make your experience better and spend your time more efficiently. It does take some hard work.
I did like reading your post.

That's another strong reason for giving us the whole region, rather than just one city in Legends. For players that never got to experience the original full Kalos region. But, even with the exclusiveness of just one city, it would've went well, if they gave us remakes.
If you don't mind spoilers, I can list some of the differences. (However, I kinda forgot some details and have to replay the games.)
So, fair warning... Spoilers ahead:
In Sun and Moon we were mainly focused on the Alola region and got introduced to the characters. We faced several Trials as, we explored the region. (Unlike the anime, we really only went to school for like... 2 seconds? That's an exaggeration, but I guess that's kinda what triggered the ongoing school theme in the games, moving forward.)
Sidenote: I personally, didn't really like how much they changed in the Sun and Moon series, from the games. Yeah the anime shows more, but they changed it to a whole different degree as they altered the way the rules and stuff. Practically every Trial Captain was not a Captain of a Trial, and instead placed in the school with Ash. (That's one example. But overall, I get the differences, as they're intended to follow the theme of the games, by incorporating the alternate worlds, or multiverse, as we saw in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.)
Refocusing on the differences... The Ultra games introduced the Ultra Recon Squad—who weren't in the prior games. (I thought they were just adding details, but if I recall, they actually changed Lusamine's story a bit, because of the Ultra Recon Squad.) In the prior games, Lusamine had undergone symbiosis with Nihilego "UB-01: Symbiont", and upon returning to Alola, we see Lillie (and I believe Gladion), head off to Kanto to see Bill. (I don't recall if they really returned, honestly...)
In the Ultra Games, I don't recall if they took her to Kanto. In fact, I believe we skipped that whole scenario, where she fused with Nihilego… Because, in this version, we got more story focused on Necrozma. (And, unlike in Unova where we didn't get complete Kyurem... We did get Ultra Necrozma. I'm pretty sure Necrozma was supposed to fuse with Solgaleo AND Lunala, but due to challenges with game mechanics and being placed in two separate games, it wouldn't have worked properly. So, I'm guessing they had it use both in the anime to clarify what they had intended.)
Sidenote: The above actually reminds me of an animation I wanted to work on. I had imagined it so thoroughly, and taken notes on how it was planned... I'm still new at animation and still learning to freehand draw Pokémon. Anyway, I'll try to get to that later.
Back to the differences. The Ultra games allowed us to (very mildly) explore each Ultra World—with the exception of the newer two Ultra Beasts' worlds. We also got some newer Trials, even updated previous Trials. And I believe Mantine Surfing was exclusive to the Ultra games.
If I recall, Zygarde was available to catch in the wild, in the same spot Guzzlord was in. (Guzzlord in Sun and Moon, Zygarde in Ultra.)—hence a portion of the Guzzlord theory... Zygarde also got a little more of a proper introduction in this game, than in X and Y.
Recollecting all these details, really makes me feel further that my Alola Legends theory is correct... There was a lot of connections to Kalos in the Alola games... Especially, in Ultra.
Plus, before the return to Lumiose in Legends Z-A, Alola was the last game we saw Mega Evolution in. (Unless it appeared in Let's Go. I've still yet to play it. It's definitely on my list. Just haven't been able to, sadly. I need an Eevee on my shoulder, as I journey Kanto.)
It'd be funny if they released Alola DLC in Winds and Waves, to throw us off the trail, of an Alola Legends game. (Or, if they wanted to prep us for the return to Alola.)
But, now I'm wondering... If we do get Alola Legends, then what is the DLC for Winds and Waves going to be? (Assuming it also gets DLC.) Or if the alternative theory is correct—Alola and Galar Legends—then what DLC for Winds and waves...?
I'd say if we stick to the school theme moving forward, we might return to Hoenn—or at least Rustboro City—as we maybe meet Roxanne as we explore more legends and myths of the Winds and Waves legends. Or maybe we'll get Mossdeep, as we take to space and potentially find never before seen Pokémon, exclusively in space. (Probably not, but I do hope we can explore worlds deep within the stars of our beloved Pokémon universe.)
Ooh... "Pokémon: Galaxies". That would be something else, if we got to explore our Solar System, or at least one of said Planets. Maybe, we'd take Rayquaza, Lunala, or Solgaleo into space, as we playthrough a mini game where we avoid asteroids, and follow a specific star path, to reach a distant planet. But, we're light-years away from that... (Pewter Gym Trainer: "Light-years is a measure of space.")
Anyway, I'm getting way off topic... Sorry.

Personally, I would love to get a complete version, where we still see all of the above occur, but if I had to choose only one, I'd choose the Ultra games. (But, I hope they rerelease Black, White, Black 2 and White 2. I pretty much missed out on them, I have one version, but I have yet to make any real progress in it. And I think it was one of the first versions, which means I can't transfer my anything from Dream Radar to it... Sadly.)
Also, I get that it's an ongoing trend and theme, but I really wish they'd stop making multiple of the same game, and releasing it like that. If their returning to a region, then I get it. But, going ahead making multiples makes it harder for individuals who don't have access to online services, IRL friends, friends that are interested in the series, or just don't have the money to get multiple games. It makes it harder to complete, plus, how are some able to keep up with the proper system, when all that money is going into alternate versions of basically the same game.
And, I feel the multiple games play a role in some of the length of time that it takes to make said games. If they only made one version, the games would likely release sooner. Yeah, it'd take more effort to make sure that the story makes sense, and that all the Pokémon are available, but it's still possible. And, with the complexities of the Alola games, they don't even have to do what the anime did by fusing the Sun and Moon Altars. They can just give us the Reverse World, allowing us to unlock the other Cosmog. Lusamine can still go and fuse with Nihilego, while Ultra Recon Squad sends us through the Ultra Wormhole after, leading us to face Necrozma. (The wording is bad here, I know. I could definitely word this better, sorry.)
Overall, it just feels like it'd make more sense to just make one game, kinda like how it is with the Legends games. And, X and Y would make more sense, as the use of the Ultimate Weapon, would likely use the power of life and death, as they took the lives of so many, and gave so much life to the users. (Hence why we see Xerneas and Yveltal both get a turn as the power source. But, seeing just one, kinda takes away from it a bit. Unless there's another room, holding the other Pokémon, connected to the machine. (Is Serena taking care of that one, in the background? I dunno, she might've been with me when I took care of the other one. I don't recall. I have to replay that later.)
Anyway. Sorry, again, for derailing the topic.

As, you are correct, I was mainly going off the name. Plus, as I've mentioned, the buildings seem somewhat organized in a similar fashion, like we see in Legends Z-A. (I'm sure it's a bit of a stretch, but it's just a theory. We won't actually know until the games tell us.)
Also, while I was typing this, I happened to think of a similarity in theme between Ultra Megalopolis and Galar. Galar once faced the Darkest Day, due to Eternamax Eternatus—which I still want to use that form in battle, by the way. While Ultra Megalopolis (and Alola) had the light taken away by Necrozma—Ultra Megalopolis didn't seem to get its light back, so their Darkest Day, was more permanent. (Which thinking about it, since they likely adapted to a world without light, having light return suddenly, could possibly cause harm, or make it generally difficult to go about their life. Plus, the entire ecosystem would have to readapt to the returning light. So, although they might wish to have their light back, it would likely disrupt all life in their world or entire ecosystem.)
As for my remark about depression, don't worry. I'll likely already be depressed. Kinda generally have it. If anything, talking about the theory and hearing more about the upcoming games help (minus spoilers or leaks). Even if only for a moment.
Also, I do learn from my failures. Learning from my failures isn't hard. But mental health isn't fixed in a day. Especially, in my case. (But, I meant my remark more in a mildly playful sense.)
Anyway, enough about that. This is a space for Pokémon. Gotta 'em all!
