[Icebreaker] How did you first get into Pokémon?

My older siblings were super into Pokémon when they were younger and thus got me into it as well. I remember watching them play Pokémon Stadium on the N64 when I was very little and they'd sometimes let me choose what moves that their Pokémon should use in battle. I wasn't that good at deciding on moves back then and would often end up causing them to lose, but hey! Every trainer's gotta start somewhere!

My first time in pokemon was that I was on Instagram watching videos and the Pokémon TCGP live application appeared and since I was a child I collected pokemon cards in Puerto Rico but when I moved to the USA I lost them all and when I saw the application again on Instagram I found myself little and downloaded the application and until now I have pokemon go and I'm here sharing this with you thank you

When I watched the anime for the first time on the WB channel way back in 1998. Iirc, it was on after Card Captor Sakura. Ah, memories.

I first got into Pokémon through the TV series which used to come on before school. I used to watch Pokémon with Ash/Pikachu whilst having breakfast and then hop off to school. It always made my day as a kid, good times. :)

Desde pequeño tuve pasión absoluta por dibujar mis "criaturas coloridas" (que en realidad eran intentos de perro en su mayoría, pero mi padre los llamaba así porque parecían de todo menos perros xd). Me encantaba crear cientos y de mil maneras posibles- dibujos, plastilinas…- con el deseo de regalarlos. Sin embargo siempre fui el niño raro, y me era muy difícil encontrar a alguien que los apreciase.
En 2013 tenía 7 años, y conocí Pokémon al mudarme y cambiar de escuela. Desde ahí, los conocidos monstruos de bolsillo me han inspirado como artista y persona.
Y ahora en 2026 por fin he vuelto a casa, ¡y estoy más que emocionado por cómo de grande es la comunidad pkmn por aquí!

For me, it was some episodes of the Indigo League anime that we had on VHS. While not in order, these did give us a glance into the World of Pokémon. The game origin is in Gen 4 with Pokémon Pearl on an R4 card, which many nowadays might consider taboo.
