[Icebreaker] How did you first get into Pokémon?

My older siblings were super into Pokémon when they were younger and thus got me into it as well. I remember watching them play Pokémon Stadium on the N64 when I was very little and they'd sometimes let me choose what moves that their Pokémon should use in battle. I wasn't that good at deciding on moves back then and would often end up causing them to lose, but hey! Every trainer's gotta start somewhere!

My first time in pokemon was that I was on Instagram watching videos and the Pokémon TCGP live application appeared and since I was a child I collected pokemon cards in Puerto Rico but when I moved to the USA I lost them all and when I saw the application again on Instagram I found myself little and downloaded the application and until now I have pokemon go and I'm here sharing this with you thank you

I first got into Pokémon through the TV series which used to come on before school. I used to watch Pokémon with Ash/Pikachu whilst having breakfast and then hop off to school. It always made my day as a kid, good times. :)

i got lets go eevee as a gift from my mom as a kid and then 2 years later i got sword ! got addicted during the pandemic and now i take a pokemon plush with me everywhere i go :3

i was exposed to PKMN from my uncle and cousin, who both liked the franchise prior to me getting into it. they would show me the save files of their Sinnoh playthroughs. i remember randomly getting my hands on a DSi and playing my uncle’s save file of Platinum and not knowing what i was doing. i accessed the pc in a Pokémon Center and thought i was going to get in so much trouble because i didn’t know if i was even allowed to do that.
one day, my family went to a pizza place and i ended up winning a dolphin plushie from a claw machine. it was light green in color, and for some reason, it reminded me of a Pokémon. so at home, i drew it. i didn’t really know anything about PKMN, so i was just drawing what i thought Pokémon were— cool creatures that battled. i showed my uncle the dolphin i drew and told him it was a Pokémon i made inspired by the plush i won that night. my uncle called it “Dolphini”.  that night me, my uncle and my brother went on the family computer and browsed through different Pokémon on a wiki. that somehow turned into me and my brother watching Indigo League and Black and White all the time on Netflix 
my sister’s boyfriend at the time had a brother who liked Pokémon. i would tell him a lot about Pokémon since i would watch the anime and lots of PKMN videos on YouTube. he offered to give me a Pokémon game for my birthday. i picked Pokémon Diamond because i thought it had a cool name. then on the day of my birthday, my mom bought me my first Pokémon game, X, and i was also gifted Pokémon Diamond. my first PKMN games were both X and Diamond and my first partner Pokémon was Fennekin!

if it weren’t for my uncle, this Pokémon-rotted freak wouldn’t exist. LOL
