    For me what I usually do is play through it casually, but I at least do one full odds shiny hunt for my shiny party member.

    I’m a casual player but playing the game just once is pretty much impossible for me. 😅

    A combination shiny hunter, like to take my time. Not the most competitive tbh, but I do have some fun with some light battling.

    I like to play through the game casually but also catch every species I come across. And then I like to shiny hunt.

    I like having fun, exploring world, doing battles and catching Pokemon. Have become more of a collector recently, but still more casual.

    I try to do a mono-poison run every first-time. Makes the games real challenging.

    I like playing through casually and then doing more competitive modes (Battle Tower, Ranked online) when I'm done, although I don't really pay attention to specific rules. I do prefer Full Battles over the 3-on-3s those modes do though.

    I do play competitively, but I wouldn't say I prefer it over playing through the story.

    Casual. I don’t put games down until the next release though, if I even play any new Pokémon games.
