Yeh I just recently noticed it said local play probably for safety reasons (I just know they’ll be trolls naming themselves and their Pokémon bad stuff)

I don't even think it's that (though not having to deal with it may be a secondary benefit of not including online).
I think they just want to drop the games with minimal modifications. Adding online play would mean additional work.
They could probably add censorship similar to the modern games, but then you are reworking the in-game nicknaming function, and at that point it is already too much hassle.
And I understand Nintendo and Pokémon are concerned about their brand image, but honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal. My primary school friends were nicknaming their Pokémon naughty words they found in the dictionary or learned from older siblings, and we survived the horrors of "A** used gust".

Or maybe they’ll add online later and be like “All new online if you have switch online you could now use online in frlg play it again!”

My memory of Generation 1 had more to do with what you nicknamed Blue as opposed to the Pokémon themselves. The real question is, which rival got it worse in the nickname department… Blue or Silver?

I think people will complain because in the past Nintendo rereleased their old titles for less, Pokemon Crystal was 10 bucks on the e store. You could argue this is a more complex game and similar to an SNES game, which Super Mario World was 8 bucks on the 3DS e shop. There isn't much justification for an ALL DIGITAL PURCHASE, at least the 70 buck purchase back then came with a cartridge made in japan and a box this rerelease is just the same 20 year old game and doesn't even have home support (maybe in the future but not even Z-A has home support yet and it came out mid october).
In summary its not worth 20 bucks.

It’s probably because they’re adding more stuff to the game instead of just porting it so that’s why it’s probably 10$ more then Crystal (which is also a lot older so that’s probably another reason it’s 10$ cheaper)

Eh from what I see they aren't adding much new (maybe Home support as Crystal has Bank support but not anytime soon), also Pokemon Rangers sold on the Wii U e-shop for 7 bucks.

I think it’s home support and online play It said in the description but they changed it
