    I never used Reddit, but I joined during the Reddit summer wave because Pokémon was promoting the forum as a Reddit alternative in the face of multiple Reddit shutdowns. For my part I prefer the classic bulletin board style forums to most other social media, so decided to make an account.

    My account survived the deluge of bizarre threads and bannings and I stuck around.
