What parts of Pokemon would you call overhyped?

Since Pokemon is an amassing franchise, there's obviously some overlap between different players/people. My question is, what parts of the community are overhyped? This could be different memes/tropes, or just different Pokemon in general. Any answers welcome!

I would say Bidoof and TCG are really overhyped. The cards are cool and all (I love them), but a lot of people are just obsessive with them or scalp them, it's really strange. Bidoof is also just a D Tier Pokemon lol.

    I think charizard cards are overrated

    The game and anime made her sound like a big deal, but when I battled her I one shot most of her team

    And in the anime she used such a basic strategy and they tried to make it seem amazing

    She's nothing!

    I may presently be a Fire Type with Flash Fire but deep down I'm an Ice Type so I don a Fire Blanket with what I'm about to say. The most overhyped thing in Pokémon is Shipping. People get so obsessed or passionate over fictional characters who, if they were to exist in real life, are literally kids(10 to 15). Why they go to such lengths to pair characters up, I'll never know but during the XY saga, it got really, really bad(like so bad that people did things they shouldn't have). Part of the blame falls squarely at the feet of writers for doing the whole Amourshipping backstory with Serena but it takes two to tango as they say with respect to acting on those emotions. The XYZ finale placated things but the Shipping Wars, are still alive and well(see Liko + Amethio, Liko + Roy or Liko + Dot are just the latest examples) and why I think they are the most overhyped thing in Pokémon.
