Introduction:
"The Mega Scrafty had me down to my last Pokémon, Totodile. I knew thing were looking bad, but I was determined to save it from the Rouge Mega Power. It charged at us with a Crunch, and the moment it did I saw the way to victory! I-" Taunie's phone dings, interrupting the story about her battling a Rouge Mega Scrafty she's telling Paxton. "Hold on," she sighs, checking the text. She groans as she reads it. "Lebanne says Jacinthe wants me to attend one of her fancy rich people parties," she whines.
Paxton chuckles. "I'm just glad it's you she wants this time and not me. I'm tired of them," he says.
Taunie's phone goes off again. She rolls her eyes. "I have to be there in fifteen minutes or, and I quote, 'there will be consequences,'" she tells me, pocketing her phone. "Guess I should get going."
The two of them get up and hug. "See you in a couple hours," Paxton says. Taunie throws her head back and groans again, much more dramatically this time.
As she walks out, Paxton's stomach grumbles.
I could go for some Nouveau Cafe,he thinks to himself, grabbing his jacket and heading to the food truck.Paxton In Wild Zone 2:
Paxton is walking around Wild Zone 2, excited for lunch. He can see the food truck! He picks up the pace, his stomach grumbling. He can't wait for a croissant and cup of coffee! As he comes around the curve, a woman comes rushing out of Wild Zone 2, crashing into him. Both of them yell as they smash into the ground.
"Ow…" Paxton hisses, slowly sitting up.
"I-I'm so sorry," the woman stutters, crawling over to him. "How injured are you?"
"Paxton takes a second to really feel the pain. "I'm not bad," he says, shaking his head. The woman sighs with relief. "Are you okay, though? You seem quite panicked."
The woman looks back behind her at Wild Zone 2. "I guess I'm okay," she says, looking back at Paxton. Suddenly, realization dawns on her. "Hey, wait a minute! You're that powerful trainer that helps around the city!"
Paxton grunts as he stands up. "Yeah, that's me," he responds with a chuckle.
"Well I need your help," she states, turning towards Wild Zone 2. "This is a problem for everyone. So the thing that I was running from was an Alpha Gyrados, and it's attacking everyone in the Zone."
Paxton's eyes widen with shock. "An Alpha Gyrados? In Wild Zone 2!” he asks, stunned. The woman nods.
"Yeah. One of the Alpha Magikarp evolved. People have been trying to defeat it, but nobody is strong enough. Not even Ivor," she looks down at the ground sadly. Then, she looks back at Paxton. "That's where you come in!"
Paxton nods. "You want me to defeat the Alpha Gyrados," he questions.
"Exactly," the woman confirms.
Paxton is starving. He wishes he could decline, but he knows he can't leave a problem this big. "Alright," he says with a sigh.
"Thank you so much," the woman exclaims, running off with a wave.
Paxton takes a deep breath, exhaling slowly. "Let's do this," he mutters.
Paxton enters Wild Zone 2, and as soon as he does the Alpha Gyrados notices him. It roars at him, charging right at him with Surf. Paxton reaches into his pocket and sends out his Meowstic.
"Go! Extrasensory," he commands. Meowstic's eyes glow with power. Right as the Gyrados is about to hit it, its blue ears open, pushing a blast of psychic power at the incoming Gyrados. The water disappears, Gyrados flinching from the hit. "Great! Now Thunderbolt!"
Meowstic's body shakes as electricity covers it. It lets out a loud meow as it launches all the energy at Gyrados. The Gyrados howls in agony as the Thunderbolt makes a direct hit. Paxton throws a PokeBall at it. The ball hits it, sucking it in. One shake. Two shakes. POP!
The Gyrados comes out, furious. Its eyes lock onto Meowstic and it dashes forward with an immense amount of speed, landing a Crunch before Paxton can react. Meowstic mews weakly as it staggers to its feet.
"Are you okay," Paxton ask. Meowstic looks back at him and nods. "Good. Future Sight!"
Meowstic's eyes light up and its ears open again. The area around Gyrados lights up and then disappears. The Gyrados seems unphased, launching a Hydro Pump. "Dodge it," Paxton shouts, rolling out the ways as the beam of water almost hits him, too. "Alright, another Thunderbolt!"
Once both feet are on the ground again (Meowstic rolled, too) Meowstic hits the Gyrados with a blast of electricity again. The Gyrados tries to avoid it, but gets shocked, roaring with pain. Somehow it took that, too! That's okay, though, because right as it begins charging for a Hyper Beam, the Future Sight activates, blowing it up and making it faint. Paxton tosses another PokeBall at it. Once again, a red beam of light sucks the Gyrados in. The ball bounces through the air, struggling to contain the beast. Suddenly, it just freezes. It drops to the ground and clicks, signaling success. Paxton sighs with relief, picking up the ball.
"Great work, Meowstic," he says, putting the Alpha Gyrados in his bag. "Now let's go get so Nouveau Cafe!"
Meowstic meows happily, following Paxton out of the wild zone. The cafe is right there! Paxton takes a deep breath in, sighing happily. His stomach growls loudly. He can't wait for brunch!
Taunie's part:
Taunie walks into Jacinthe's expensive hotel, feeling a bit jealous of all the nice things this place has. She looks around, confused by the lack of people.
I thought she said she was holding a party,Taunie thinks as she approaches the elevator.Where is everyone? As Taunie is about to press the up button, the elevator pings as it opens, Jacinthe and Lebanne walking out. The two smile as they greet Taunie, Lebanne's looking painful.
"Hello, dear," Jacinthe exclaims. "I was getting worried and just about to send dome people to see where you were!"
Taunie scoffs, knowing she really means she was about to send people to bug and possibly attack her until she came. Taunie decides not to say anything about that, instead mentioning the emptiness. "Hey, um, you said there was a party, right? Why is nobody here?"
"Because I lied," Jacinthe answers simply. Taunie doesn't know whether she's surprised or angry. She decides both.
"What," she exclaims, not really asking but demanding.
Jacinthe just laughs. "Well, I didn't want to make you uncomfortable on your way here, so I gave you a different reason," she says, answering practically nothing.
Taunie's confusion is apparent, and Lebanne explains further. "She actually wants to talk about your romantic life and give you some advice. She feared if you knew that you'd be reluctant to come."
Taunie begins to blush. "M-My romantic life," she repeats with question. "H-How do you even know about that?"
Jacinthe shrugs. "I know a lot of things. Information finds me," she says, a bit ominously. "Now come. Take a seat! Let's talk."
Jacinthe and Lebanne go over to a nearby table. Jacinthe sits down in one of the two chairs and Lebanne stands behind her. Taunie, not really able to escape, sighs as she takes the seat.
"So, have you ever dated before," Jacinthe asks, immediately getting down to business.
Taunie shakes her head. "No," she replies.
Jacinthe nods, closing her eyes and holding her chin, looking thoughtful. "Yes, yes. I figured," she says. Taunie doesn't know if she should take offense to that. "That means you probably don't know the basic rules of a relationship."
"There's rules," Taunie asks. She's never heard that before.
"Oh, yes," Jacinthe confirms, clapping her hands together. "It's pretty much that the guy should do everything. He takes you out the car, holds the door open, pulls out your seat, orders for you. Almost everything. It's expected."
Taunie shakes her head. "That doesn't sound right. I mean, yeah some of that is chivalrous and all, but I don't think it's a rule. He shouldn't have to."
Jacinthe laughs. "That, darling, is why your not the dating expert. There's more. He should lead the conversations, pay for the night, and having something secret planned after," she continues.
Some of that sounds nice, sure, but being required seems extreme. But, if that's the rules Taunie guesses she can work with it.
At the same time with Paxton:
Paxton came here for one reason. To make an order. He wanted a Fire Blast Roast with a croissant. That's it. What did he receive? A lecture. A lecture on how to properly go on a date. If Paxton would have known this would happen after Taunie and his coffee date here, he would have chose a different restaurant.
"Tell me," Grisham says, sitting across from Paxton at one of the tables, "what do you plan to do for Taunie during this date?"
"Um," Paxton thinks. "The nice stuff. You know, helping her out the car, holding the door open, pulling out her seat-"
"Wrong answer, bud," Griselle cuts in. "That stuff is only in the movies. In the real world, that makes the girl think you don't believe she can jold her own. That you think she needs you to do it for her."
Paxton shakes his head. "That's not what that means! I just want to-"
"Well that's not how she'll take it," Grisham states. "Let her do things herself. Let her be independent."
"How do I do that," Paxton asks, now curious on the right way to go on a date.
"Let her exit the car, walk herself in, choose her own seat," Griselle lists, Grisham nodding along.
"And make sure to split the bill evenly," Grisham adds. "She doesn't need you to cover her meal."
"That last part seems fair," Paxton says, nodding his head. "But the rest of that doesn't. Won't it seem like I'm being rude."
Griselle shakes her head. "Nah. She'll appreciate it. Trust us."
"Okay," Paxton responds slowly.
Most of that feels wrong, but they are married. If anyone knows how dates work, it's them.
Right Before Date:
Paxton and Taunie are waiting in the lobby of Hotel Z. They called the taxi about half an hour ago, so it should be here any minute. Paxton has been eyeing the white bag Taunie has the whole time. He finally decides to ask.
"What's in the bag," he asks, curiosity taking over.
Taunie smiles. "You'll find out after our date."
Paxton is about to push for more, but there is a "beep" outside. The cab has arrived! The two of them leave the hotel, and when they get to the car the man looks annoyed.
"To Restaurant Le Wow, please," Paxton says as they enter the car. The driver doesn't do anything. Instead, he just stares at the two of them.
"You're Paxton, right," he asks. "The up and rising new trainer?"
"Um, I guess," Paxton responds. He always forgets that he's well known.
"Good. I've been wanting a battle but everyone that's gotten in has had cash. We're gonna battle," the driver states.
"But we have money," Taunie exclaims. The guy scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"Don't care," he snaps back. "I want a battle. No fight no drive."
"I guess we can battle," Paxton says, getting back out of the car. The man chuckles as he does the same.
"If you have to," Taunie says with a sigh, following the other two. "Make it quick, though. I've waited too long for tonight!"
Once a decent distance away from one another, they pull out a PokeBall. "This is a one-on-one," the driver shouts.
Paxton nods. "Not a problem!"
The two guys send out their Pokémon. Paxton is using Feraligatr and the man sends out a Beartic. The two Pokémon roar powerfully, each trying to intimidate the other.
"Let's go, Slash," the cabbie commands, throwing his fist out. Beartic starts dashing at Feraligatr, claws extended.
"Breaking Swipes," Paxton shout. Feraligatr's tail glows as it swings it at the Beartic, who counters it with the Slash. The two Pokémon are at a temporary stand still as they push against each other. After a bit, they both end up getting knocked back.
"Get back in there, Ice Punch," yells the guy. Beartic pushes off the ground, fist clench and frozen.
"Meet it with Crunch," Paxton responds, swiping his arm through the air. Feraligatr leaps forward. Beartic throws its fist out, right into Feraligatr's open mouth. Feraligatr chomps down, locking its jaw. The Beartic tries to escape but to know avail, causing the driver to panic. "End it now! Superpower!"
At Paxton's command Feraligatr yanks its head back, pulling in the Beartic. It releases Ice type and quickly strikes it with its palm before it can dodge. The Beartic howls as it's sent flying back. When it hits the ground it's unconscious.
The man stands still, staring at his Pokémon with disbelief. Then, he starts laughing. "Yeah, kid! That's what I needed! Great battle."
Paxton smiles. "Yeah, you too!"
"Great! Y'all fought," Taunie exclaims, her annoyance evident. "Can we go now?"
"Of coarse," the guy says happily, going back to his car. "To Restaurant Le Wow!"
"Thank you," Taunie says with a sigh, getting into the vehicle, Paxton following. The car hums as it starts up. They pull off and drive to their date.
Incomplete Second Date:
"Why aren't you ordering," Paxton asks.
Taunie's eyes widen with surprise. "I've been waiting for you to," she responds.
"I already did," he says, confused.
"No, for me," she clarifies.
Paxton's eyebrows furrow with confusion. "Why would I do that?"
"I don't know! It's expected," Taunie exclaims.
"Who said that," Paxton questions.
"Jacinthe," Taunie replies. Paxton continues to look at her with confusion and she sighs. "So there was no party. When I got there, she told me she tricked me and wanted to give me dating advice. She told me the male does everything. Get me out the car, open the door, make the order, etc," she explains.
"I was going to do the first two things, but Grisham and Griselle told me not to," Paxton tells Taunie, who's now the confused one.
"You talked them about tonight," she asks, and Paxton laughs, shaking his head.
"No. Not by choice, anyways. They sat me down and talked me about it," he says. "They told me not to really do anything for you because it will make you think I think you're dependent on me."
Taunie shakes her. "That's not what I would have thought," she exclaims.
Paxton nods. "Didn't think so. But they're the one with relationship experience, so I took their word for it."
Taunie chuckles. "Yeah, I get that. That's why I listened to Jacinthe." She sighs. "Alright, how about this. From now on, we'll figure our relationship out on our own. We'll decide what we should do for or expect from one another." Taunie raises her fist. "Yeah?"
Paxton smiles and taps his fist against hers. "Yeah."
"Great. Now I hope you brought money because I was told you're paying," Taunie says, picking up the menu.
Paxton laughs. "Not what I planned, but I can do that."

Yassified First Story
Sorry you have to go through this but I Yassified your story of a woman becoming independent.
Paxton and Taunie are chilling in the lobby of Hotel Z. Taunie is telling Paxton about a time that she had to fight a Rouge Mega Hisuian Decidueye back before the MZ Team became a thing and her Pokémon were low leveled. Right as she's getting to the thrill of the battle, she gets a text. She checks her phone and groans. It's from Lebanne, requesting that Taunie attends a runway party at Jacinthe's request. She tells Paxton and they hug and she runs out, wanting to get this done and over with. Paxton decides that he'll go get a cup of coffee from Nouveau Cafe.
Following Taunie:
She arrives at Jacinthe's hotel and finds it empty. Pretty strange considering Lebanne told her to come for a party. As Taunie approaches the elevator, it opens and Jacinthe and Lebanne exit, approaching her with smiles (Lebanne's very forced). Jacinthe explains that she had heard that Taunie and Paxton were together, and she did not actually have any party and actually wanted to give Taunie dating advice. The three of them take a seat at table and some waiters bring charcuterie and drinks. Once everyone has settled in, Jacinthe begins to explain the "rules of a date." She says that the guy should do practically everything. Open the doors, pull out the seats, choose the meals, pay for the night, have a hidden surprise planned after. It is what's expected. She says he should choose the topics of conversation and events of the day. "That's just how it is," she says. Taunie doesn't agree with this, but she's never been in a relationship, so she takes her word. Lebanne starts to contridict, but because of sass gets shut down.
Meanwhile at Nouveau Cafe:
All Paxton does is order a Fire Blast Roast. That's it. What he got? Advice. Grisham and Griselle had seen Taunie and Paxton on their date and said it was obvious Paxton was new to this. Being in a successful marriage (and we're sure they're married? Kinda thought they were siblingsâ¦) and have been on many dates, they decided that they should help Paxton. They ask Paxton "What do you plan on doing during y'all's next date?" He says he's going to help her out the car, hold her hand into the building, pull out her seat, kiss her on the cheek, talk about political views and they cut him off there. They say that's cliche and only done in movies. In real life, people think that's rude by assuming the female is incapable of taking care of herself. She can open her own door, walk in on her own, grab her own seat. He should let her do her own thing or vote how she feels. And when it comes to paying, they split the bill 50/50. Paxton agrees with the last part, thinking it's fair, but the rest of it he thinks will make him seem rude. None the less, he hasn't done this before and takes their word.
Second date:
They go to a swanky restaurant. As they get past the drive, Paxton gets out and just stands there awkwardly waiting for Taunie, who's waiting for him to help her out since that is "expected." She eventually gets out on her own. As they walk into the restaurant, Paxton opens the door but doesn't wait for Taunie to enter, letting go of it and causing her to get hit. Paxton asks if she's okay, she says yes, laughing it off, but there's an awkward tension in the air. As the waiter shows them to their table, Taunie stands there waiting for Paxton to pull out her seat, which never happens. As Paxton takes his chair and sits down, he settles and looks up at Taunie and asks her to sit sit down. Taunie says she doesn't know and humorlessly chuckles as she sits down. Once it's time to order, Paxton says what he wants and then watches Taunie, waiting for her as her eyes wander the menu. She fumbles the pages. And they glance at one another. She sits quietly, the waiter makes a suggestion from the menu. Paxton just notices the music playing somewhat loudly. And doesn't hear what she ordered.
"Why aren't you ordering," Paxton asks.
Taunie's eyes widen with surprise. "I've been waiting for you to," she responds.
"I already did," he says, confused.
"No, for me," she clarifies.
"Okay how about the Green beans and Steak?"
"I just don't know about that. I'll have the pasta."
"?"
"Jacinthe my friend suggested that."
That's when Taunie explains what Jacinthe told her and Paxton says he was going to do that until he talked to Grisham and Griselle. Taunie said she wouldn't have wanted that and only wanted it because that was what girls are told to expect. They laugh about it and decide that if they want to make this work, they need to figure out for themselves what they want and expect from one another. And then it ends with them enjoying each other's company. Leading each other home and saying goodnight.1 -
I like that ending!
Also, I noticed the changes to the date
I like the addition of adding actual foods to it
I may be wrong, but that's all I noticed
That and the waitress offering an idea that wasn't heard
I've already wrote the ending part, but I can add the enjoying each other's company and food suggestions
