    Were those last two posts chatbots?

    Why? They didn't even try to sell me anything.

    @PikaCHooo69

    Slugma's distribution in gen 2 makes it feel like a gen 3 Pokémon from South Africa.

    What? Are you a chatbot too?

    Cufant and Copperajah feel like from an entirely different gen in the future.

    I think there is something of an invasion of chatbots right now. New accounts making a single post each vaguely referring to the topic but ever so slightly "off".

    They don't interact or respond when spoken to. They make their single paragraph post, then go silent.

    Perhaps someone is preparing to do something on the forum and wants to seed it with a load of accounts that apparently have post history, so that they are harder to distinguish from regular users and ban.

    Or perhaps they just want to test chatbots, and they picked this forum for some reason.

    It might be worth reporting (not just flagging, actually reporting) these accounts to the mods. These new users making nonsensical posts that do not respond to other users.

    Mention in the report that you suspect that they are AI chat bots. If we don't deal with them now, we might find the forum overwhelmed with spam in a few weeks when someone puts whatever they are planning into action.

    yeah it’s weird they only mention pokemon that were previously mentioned in the discussion @TheJeffers Plus if they truly were Pokémon fans they should know that gen 3 was in Japan not South Africa they could be chat bots or they could just be the same person making multiple accounts to just spam their opinions without getting marked for spam

    Are you guys familiar with the Dead Internet theory?

    The theory that most of our interactions on the internet these days are primarily with bots.

    I do not think it is some grand conspiracy. Merely the result of the sheer number of bots flooding social media, comment sections and forums for various purposes.

    I don’t think that’s the case @TheJeffers maybe some interactions but I feel most interactions are with internet addicted people like me
