I'm relatively new to Gen 9 given I got Scarlett like a week or so ago. I assume you can have w/e Terra type you want but I mentioned nothing of having Stellar Types but rather having a Liko themed team. Given she has a Grass/Dark, Psychic/Fairy, Fire/Psychic(assumed as Amarouge, but she can surprise us and go Fire/Ghost with Ceruledge) and Normal(albeit not until post-game pretty much). So given those 3 Pokémon, and barring the Anime adding new additions to her team, I'll definitely need a Water type if for nothing else to deal with Fire Types(Mela in particular but also Clavel and Crispin) and something to deal with Fairies(notably Ortega and Lacey). Cloyster feels like a solid pick with Skill Link making Icicle Spear effectively a 125 Base Power move(5 x 25). Then add Liquidation for Water Stab and a couple coverage moves like Rock Blast(taking advantage of Skill Link) and maybe Poison Jab for Fairies. For the other flex pick, I think I'll go with a team anchor in Garchomp. Gives the team vital Electric type coverage with STAB Earthquake to go with STAB Dragon Claw. Will also have coverage moves for Fairies(like Iron Head) and Sword Dance to boost its raw power. Not the most versatile team but one that could feasibly beat the base game at least.
