After using the Bright Flame attack, you are prompted to remove the energy, but if you try to discard two energy (like the card text says) you are told that you are discarding too much energy.

The game will allow you to only discard one.

Was Charizard from Pokemon GO in play? Its ability makes each Fire Energy count as 2, so you'd only have to discard one.
