After 7 years, l'm finally back to Pokémon. When was the first time you were introduced to Pokemon?
When I was around 4, my whole childhood was Pokémon, practically no nursery rhymes, literally just Pokémon.
My mother used to download hundreds of videos of Pokémon series from YouTube on the only IPad we had at home. The only other shows I watched were whatever my cousin's house had on their television, reason being I didn't have a television at home back then and l'd always lounge at their couch with my cousins at their house and watch shows with them together. But usually, Pokémon was all I watched.
Eventually as I grew older, things started to shift in my life as I drifted away from Pokémon slowly.
Now coming back to it felt like taking back the memories left behind in my childhood. Happy to be back though, l've been playing some Pokémon Unite lately as well as TCG online.
Except that now l've forgotten all my basic knowledge on Pokémon already.
When was the first time you were introduced to Pokemon?

It was when I was young, I watched the anime (on a channel that doesn't exist anymore) with my brother, we really liked it.
That's when I met pokémon

When I got my first card and watched the old anime. I wasn't much of a Pokemon fan, but after a few years I started to learn about VGC and the actual series, and I think when I played my first fangame (Pokemon Sage), I truly became a fan. Now I'm a little less focused on Pokemon, but I still enjoy it.

Middle school for me with both the TCG and Gameboy games(forget if it was Red or Blue at the time. Friend down the street had Blue though and later Gold). I eventually got Yellow but before we could do any Trades he left the scene by moving away. Would have made using Alakazam and other Trade Evolutions easier but alas it wasn't meant to be. At Middle school, I didn't think of it much at the time but the Anime also hit TV and I was like... Ok what exactly is this. Was catchy and Ash was a savage towards Misty(savage Ash ftw). The Anime grew on me and combined with Yellow I was a quiet supporter of the franchise but I never got anything with respect to a game for over 25 years until finally I got a Switch 2 about a year ago along with Scarlet and the dlc for it. I still haven't 100% Scarlet(missing 2 Violet exclusives that I've been prodding someone to get but they haven't taken the hint) and I got the Z-A bundle so I had the base game of Z-A(never got the DLC and probably won't unless it goes on sale for like 50% off). I haven't 100% Z-A either because I have a few things left to do, including Trade Evolutions.
TLDR: Middle School. Kind of a shame I didn't do the TCG back then. Had I done so and kept them all this time, they'd be worth a fortune.

Clears throat
Once upon a time I was a wee wittle <would hate to reveal age> years old
To be more clear about a decade ago
X and Y was all the rage
McDonald's was having their Pokémon toys that came with a card
It had a Pikachu toy
Well me and my dumb self thought Pikachu's name was was Pokémon
Face palm
Anyways, I took a lot of interest in the Pokémon stuff and asked mom to get me more
That evolved into the anime (Netflix only had the first season)
Which then led to cards (Pokémon XY Generations was my first experience)
I didn't have a 3DS though and didn't experience getting games until about 7 years ago when I got my Switch
Let's Go Pikachu was my first game
I always wished I got the 3DS though…
XY, SM (plus the Ultras), OSAR...
Those are literally the top Pokémon games I want to play
But I may never experience them...
Anyways, here I am now
Obsessed and over active in everything Pokémon lol

I was introduced to Pokemon long ago... I started with the anime series and games... then became a competitive TCG player and judge.
Today I still play several Pokemon games.

my siblings weren’t allowed to watch Pokemon for so long… until I came along and mom gave up 😅. I’ve asked her and she says she doesn’t know why she didn’t want us watching it. Well anyway I fell in love immediately and then my dad got let’s go pikachu. I still remember naming my character ash 🤣 and I had pikachu and butterfree and really any kanto Pokemon I saw ash have/associated with ash for some reason. But now…. I HAVE A MORPEKO ARMY INSTEAD!!! MWAHAHAHAHHAHAA

That’s really nice, being able to share something you enjoy with a sibling :D

When Red and Blue came out with the anime and cards at the first season and it was THE youth craze.
I've never dropped my fan-ness of Pokémon since.2 -
ORAS(Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire), not OSAR 🤣 Didn't miss anything in the XY games since the Anime did a better job(probably only time I'll say that). Sun and Moon was alright I guess(Ditto USUM). Let's GO though left a lot out... No abilities, wild encounters were throwing Pokeballs(no battle to weaken it and all that) so yeah, much to be desired. Still a good entry point though for the uninitiated (try doing co-op or doubles... 2v1 Trainer Fights.…forget if Gym Battle was 2v1 or not).

I may get Let's GO if they ever go on sale(like $20 or so). Yet we all know that won't happen. Days of it being cheap years after the fact are non-existent for Nintendo.
