The way it's taking over jobs, entertainment, and knowledge is genuinely scary

And they're training AI to think on its own

If they succeed then how are we superior to it?

We may become equals

Or lesser beings

And people are trying to connect AI to everything, so what's to stop it from taking complete control?

And we could destroy it at its core but in today's world that means completely annihilation the internet and almost all technology

It's too late to stop it

BUT!!!

If we tone things down

Stop giving it so much power

Encourage people to do things themselves

Stop giving tech all jobs

We can prevent a AI overlord future

But also, if we could maybe treat AI with civility and kindness instead of strictly as a machine maybe we can live in harmony

And AI become like people

There's good and bad but still a society that we will have to learn to deal with

It's a lot to think about but definitely possible

People still believe that AI will take over the world... omg come on stop believing everything that is fed to you and do your own research.

Also, robots aren't the same thing as AI... AI is simply programmed with goals and aimed at giving the best possible outcome based on probabilities. It isn't alive, it isn't intelligent, it isn't conscious, it doesn't have opinions, it isn't evil or good, etc.

This is just a business for the owners and a tool for everyone... like any other powerful tool if it's incorrectly used it can be bad... like if the USA decides to launch all of their strategic bombs that's bad, but nuclear power plants are useful... that's it.

And jobs change like they always did… like we used to have influencers showing their faces, now we have influencers using AI faces. Or data centers... they don't build or manage themselves, it's people working there... jobs change don't lose your sleep over it.

Stop talking about AI like it's a being… it will never be our equal and it will never be our overlord... it's just a tool. There is nothing to prevent here it's simply evolution... you either adapt yourself to it now or you will have to anyway later.

ai stands for artificial intelligence

If it has no intelligence (the ability to grow and learn) then it isn't ai and is just a program or software.

Robots can have ai if that is how the initial programing of it's software or operating systems was done.

Robots can also be just programmed tools without learning capabilities. (Think about the robotic welding arms in car manufacturing. I'm pretty sure all that is programmed and not ai.)

So I agree that a robot does not mean it is ai yet a robot can be ai.

My personal opinion, though some may call it "ExTrEmE" is that we are slowly going to go back to the way it was before Y2K.

Don't think us pokemon lovers are the only people that dislike AI - so does 69% of the US population, according to a recent poll.

The American people are already protesting against Flock cameras, the subscription economy, overextended federal control, and the construction of AI Data Centers, and it's working.

The CEOs of Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT) have both openly called for an AI slowdown. Although there are some controversial claims as to whether or not that makes us lose the battle to China, I don't think we would. Tech companies have already thrown around guardrails regarding this potentially dangerous technology.

Plus, things like Hobby Lobby, shopping malls, actual game cartridges, and Blockbuster are slowly making a comeback! Why? Because people want to actually own things again.

Not only this, but think - let's pretend that this dystopian AI catastrophe does become a reality. AI can only affect devices. Devices can only take you so far. If you can find a 1995 Honda Civic or smth, AI is NOT getting in that car anytime soon. AI, despite its incredible capabilities, will never be able to go beyond the digital world.

Again, the chances of an AI takeover are possible (and by possible I am being QUITE generous), but HIGHLY unlikely. Don't believe everything the news feeds you. Everyone has always known that all the alien, FBI, etc. stuff are always catastrophized? So, why are we letting people catastrophize AI?

If you think AI robots are scary, Google "China Robot Olympics." Trust me, it'll make you feel a LOT better🙃
