What do you think of Gen 10 having Contests/Performances?

In DP you could enter Contests and perform on a stage and be judged by a crowd

I mostly know it due to the anime, but I have done it in BDSP and it was pretty fun!

I'd want them to make it more like the anime where you collect ribbons to attend a big competition to became top Coordinator

They won't, and thank goodness because I don't want them

Side content is one of the things missing from recent Pokémon games. It was probably a casualty of the shorter dev times. They barely have time to get the core game functioning properly, never mind side content.

That said, while it is nice to have something to flesh out the world and gameplay content beyond Pokémon battles, I don't think contests were the best example of it. They were essentially glorified Pokémon battles using different stats with a beauty contest/talent show aesthetic. I don't think the mechanic was ever properly thought out and developed, they were never that popular, and there is a reason that the number of contest halls was reduced in subsequent games, before being eliminated entirely.

I would like Gamefreak to develop more side content for their games, provided they can actually get the base game working first. But I don't want them to bring back contests.
