I guarantee you they don't hate forum members... they're simply doing their job.
They have rules and internal guidelines to follow, and apply them when required... sometimes stuff that happens may look unfair or illogical, but that's because you aren't aware of the process behind it and obviously they aren't allowed to share some things. They're paid to do their job, it's not some summer volunteering gig... they know what they're doing.
Also, we're lucky that over the last one/two years or so, they've been active almost every day... during the older years, there were very long periods where was no interaction from the mods at all... so they clearly invested in this area… not enough tho.
What I would really like to see would be more technical staff with the ability to provide direct help, instead of just moderating by the forum rules and some occasional interactions.

That's kinda why I joined. I wanted something with enough moderation to not be extremely explicit, but also let me be who I am and have some freedom. But sometimes I wonder about the age rating, as when I tried to publish some of my writing it got denied just because it had some bl**d. I think that TPC haven't decided on who their audience is, whether it should be appropriate for the children who might stumble across it, or the 13+ members who are active in the community.

I've had the same thing with moderators on another website. Somebody was quite rude to me (the website was supposed to be appropriate for younger people) and so I sent a letter to the mods. They basically replied in a nicer way "stop complaining about the fact that somebody h*tes you and get back in line". Mods can be like that and it's just the sad truth :(

Sure, who hasn't... it's almost impossible to interact with people online without ever having a bad experience... eventually it will happen. One should expose themselves carefully and never fully trust people you don't know irl.
The less you give of yourself to them, the less you will be disappointed… this could apply to many aspects of our life, but online can obviously be more devastating because it's easier to be deceived.
My two cents of advice on this is to lower your expectations on people you don't really know and when it goes bad, understand that it's common... sadly it's human nature... you must move on, they don't deserve one's limited time here.
