I assume you're talking about them in a Unite context... I'm no longer an expert on the subject, but I prefer Tinkaton even though I believe Armarouge is a better overall choice.

That depends on your play style or how each person likes to play…
An in-your-face-let's-smash-everyone-with-my-huge-hammer melee all-rounder
Vs.
A ranged attack yet-I-still-have-an-awesome-fire-spin-circle-move-that-can-be-used-as-an-all-rounder-and-does-more-attack-damage-than-Ho-Oh's-yet-protects-allies move for an attacker.
It's like comparing apples and oranges.
They have different uses (similar at moments) yet compliment each other when on the same team, having the attacker use ranged attacks allowing the all rounder to get up close to smash.
I think they both have good spots on a team that works together.
BTW, Armarouge is getting a buff today so we'll see how that works out. 😎 (Before the buff though, I have gotten MVP using Armarouge but so have my friends with Tinkaton.)
