Pokemon, The High School Life: Part 9

Vee walked in the house, with a cloud over her head "Hey mom, sorry for being late."
"Vee, you didn't tell us why you would be so late, what was up?" Vee's mom says with concern.
"Well... Do you want the bad news or the worse news first..." Vee says upset.
"Well, let's start from the start Vee."
So Vee stays honest and tells her mom the whole story, no lies.
"...Well that seems a bit extreme for passing some notes around, don't worry about it Vee." Vee's mom says "But with how Charz is acting I don't blame you for what you did, next time do it outside of class though. These teachers love finding the dumbest excuses to punish you, all so you can be a little obedient working stiff."
"Yeah, but I don't get why he ditched us like that, especially after all we have been through!"
"Vee, I think I know why he dropped you guys. It's not cause you guys did something wrong or are terrible friends, in fact you and your pals are possibly the best kind of friends he could have. Charz just wants to be the hot shot MVP of school, he doesn't realize that his new friends only have him hanging around with them because of his football skill. Once Charz stops meeting expectations they will drop him and they will ruin him."
"Yeah but mom how do we stop him from getting hurt, I care about him!"
"Unfortunately Vee this is one of those times that you have to let him figure it out for himself, with how his new group is it will only be a matter of time until his performance dips."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because he will be too preoccupied with being the celebrity rather than the star player, trust me he will start playing sloppy."
"Alright, but I still feel bad for letting him get hurt, isn't there anything we can do to help him though?"
"Yes, welcome him back with open arms and make him remember what he left behind."
"Alright, thanks mom"
"No problem Vee" Says Vee's mom, they decide to hug it out "This will all work out, and if Charz doesn't come back try not to be too upset. Charz doesn't know what he is losing if he drops you guys."
"Alright, but it won't be easy to let him go mom" Vee said with a tear rolling down her eyes.
"I never said it would be easy Vee, but I know you will be strong."
"Thanks..." Vee cries into her mom's shoulder.
"Remember Vee that friends will come and go, but your family will always be here for you. Me, your father, and your sister, we will always be here for you through the toughest of times. Remember that Vee."
Vee and her mom hugged it out for a few more minutes then started cooking some food together to keep Vee's mind off of Charz. Ellen saw they were cooking and wanted to join in too, however Ellen was made the pastry chef of the team as gummy teddiursas don't work well on a main dish. Together they made a tasty Lasagna with homemade ice cream sundae with a generous helping of gummy teddiursas. By the time they were done Vee's dad came home and they decided to watch a movie together, by Vee's dad's request they watched an action movie.
---The Next Day, Lunchtime---
"So we're just gonna let him stay with those two!" Tric says in shock.
Vee, Tric, and Aquaria were eating lunch together and discussing Charz. Gwen would have been there with them if she hadn't caught a cold.
"What choice do we have Tric, he wants to be the school celebrity now. When he realizes that they just hang out with him as a status thing he will come back. For now what can we do, I got stiffed with detention because he wants to be the hotshot. I want to help him but there isn't much I can do without getting hurt in some way, and I have the feeling if we try to step in more forcefully it won't end well. Charz's new friends seem like the more violent type."
"Yeah but we can't just let those two get their way and manipulate Charz like that! He's our friend!" Tric exclaims.
"I do agree with Tric but Vee has a point..." Aquaria says "It is important to look after our friends but at the same time some things they just need to realize on their own."
"You know you guys seem like pretty bad friends. I would never abandon my best friend in the world Charz! You should be ashamed of yourself!" Sire yells at the top of his lungs, right next to Vee's ear.
"Come on Sire you nearly made me deaf!" Vee exclaims in pain, covering her ears.
"What is wrong with you Sire!" Tric says with frustration "If you are such a great friend why don't you get Charz back!"
"I already tried. I went there and gave those two a piece of my mind! Then they said mean things to me... And took my lunch..." Side says with a tear rolling down his face "AND IT WAS TACO DAY!!!! THE ONE DAY WHERE THEY SERVE MY FAVORITE FOOD OF ALL TIME!!!!"
Vee sighed and brushed him off, Tric plugged himself back into the music, and Aquaria just didn't care enough to change what she was doing.
"You know what I will do my new best friends? Tomorrow I will show Charz and his friends that it is really mean to TAKE... SOMEONES... FAVORITE... FOOD!!!" Sire says with pure determination.
With that the bell rang and they went their own separate ways.
---Final Class of The Day---
It is Biology Class taught by Mr. Sacke the Raichu, talking about something most of the class doesn't understand.
"So through these building blocks, or monomers, you can get more complex polymers. For example, from amino acids you get proteins, from carbohydrates you get polysaccharides, and from nucleotides you get nucleic membranes. Lipids are used for later assembly such as with the cell wall..."
Vee was relatively paying attention, a good review at home will probably make more sense of this than now. Charz was trying to pay attention, usually he passes out in the last class and Vee covers for him.
'I wonder now who will cover for Charz that he dropped us...' Vee thought to herself 'His new best friends are probably just as good as he is in school..."
As the teacher was rambling on and on he notices how engaged Charz is in the class. Mr. Sacke sees how intensely Charz is watching the class with his eyes closed and decides to test his knowledge.
"Charz!" Mr. Sacke yells, waking Charz up in a flash "Since you have been so attentive in this class I have a simple question for you, name me one monomer. Any monomer will do, just tell me one please..."
Charz knew he had no idea what the professor was talking about, in habit he glanced at Vee for a response. Vee noticed him and looked away. With no idea what to say, he sighed and figured confidence is key.
"Sir, one monomer is Monobiotic Acetone." Charz said with a whole load of false confidence and a heavily exaggerated smile."
Mr. Sacke looked in frustration and went to his desk "Detention after class, if you are gonna try and fake it at least try and get close to the answer Charz."
Charz thought for a moment, and tried playing his wild card "But sir I can't go to detention, I have practice today! It's really important that I show, y'now... It's important..."
Mr. Sacke though for a moment, and thought hard. Charz was crossing his fingers behind his back as he had to attend practice today.
"Fine, your detention is dismissed... However I expect a letter from the coach excusing you from practice today, understood?" Mr. Sacke said with a stern look.
"Alright, thanks" Charz said as he leaned back into his chair.
'Dang, I guess now he's able to doze in class without any repercussions' Vee thought 'Well, let's just hope he's able to catch up at home...'
As the class ended Vee walked out and was heading to her locker as she saw Zane and Jay waiting for Charz. Charz went to them with confidence. Vee decided to open her locker and hide behind the door, they couldn't see her from their angle at least.
"So, no detention this time?" Zane asks.
"No, the practice excuse worked like a charm." Charz said with a smile.
"Told you it would, these teachers are so soft with us stars. The coach can't afford his best players getting held back in detention, he needs us like peanut butter needs jelly." Zane chuckles.
"Yeah, also what ever happened to that princess that is head over heels for you? You know, that Sylveon that tried to keep you with her in detention last time? Probably jealous that she isn't good enough for you" Jay says with a wide grin.
"Eh I dropped her, she was too annoying for my take. Can't have a nagging woman like that ruining my style." Charz says with a cruel tone.
"You got that right" Jay says as they all start to laugh together.
Vee heard that and felt sick to the core, that couldn't be the same Charz as before. She thought about confronting Charz, calling him out for what he has become and wiping that grin off of his face but decided to forget it. She figured if she did that they would ruin her and make her out to be some crazy attention needing girl, so she figured it would be better if she just let him realize his mistakes for himself. It simply wasn't worth it.
