Where did everyone get their usernames?

I made a random Google account sometime after Hisuian Zorua was announced. That's what I remember, at least, because for some reason you can't see when your account was made. I tried naming it HisuianZorua because I really liked it (and Zorua and Zoroark have always been some of my favourite Pokémon), but I was too late. UnovanZorua, being something old quietly given a new name (no one called it Unovan Zorua before there was a need to), hadn't been taken at all yet, so I made an account with that name. Somehow I managed to get the same name on a freshly made trainer club account on 14/8/2023 to join the forums. I don't remember how I felt about it then, but it's a miracle I somehow got the name of a very popular Pokémon numberless and additional word/letter/symbol-less despite being over a month late to the forums and who knows how late to making a trainer club account in general.

And maybe being over a month late sounds early to most people here considering there are few people who joined in 2023 still here, but the forums exploded with users after their announcement in July until large amounts of people got banned, sometimes for no reason and often for posting things they shouldn't have from what I heard a few weeks before joining. Then people thankfully thought the forums just disappeared. But still, a lot of people joined and I'm still surprised my username wasn't taken before I joined, especially since it's a Pokémon-centric forum.

i made it maybe over a decade ago as an old geometry dash username and it just stuck

My username is actually Brave Sir Duck, which is basically what Sirfetch’d (my favourite mon) is. However, that felt too long and so I shortened it down to BSDuck. It also references BSD, an animated character I created soon after I started posting here about stuff other than UNITE.

My other name, Hazer, ummm… I just came up with a random username and I guess I thought it sounded cool at the time, and then it really grew on me, to the point where I’m referred to as Hazer IRL (I feel crazy saying this but it’s true)
